Well in my experience if you are moving over from windows and not really technical then either mandriva or pclinuxos.. which can be found at
www.pclinuxos.com
www.mandriva.com
Or of course try ubuntu..
www.ubuntu.com
This comes with the 3 desktop environments KDE, Gnome or XFCE so you have a choice. Also all these only take up 1 cd and are LIVE cd's so you can use them before you install..

Yes but for a first time user its abit complicated + its like a 5 cd download :) What advantages does it have over openSUSE or Fedora?

Get the DVD Download :P
1. CentOS is based of RHEL, so it has SOME Features over Fedora.
2. openSuSE mhmmm haven't used it since 10.0 So i wouldn't know :)

CentOS is good if you wish to go into servers etc, if you want programming and web design but simple at the same time OpenSuSE is good i use it, 10.2 is great 10.0 does my fine on my laptop but i use 10.2 on my main pc
