Hey :),

Dell is working hard at offering a choice when selecting an operating system. Just a few weeks back, it put the choice of windows XP back on the production line for its models. Now, it has decided to give customers the option to have linux pre-installed as well, however only on a few of its machines.

Thanks

Its more of an update from dell to those ancious linux users I guess :P. They need to test the operating system out quite a bit before releasing it :).

I like Ubuntu :D Also, this should bring the prices down alot... Saving yet more money for people who use pirate copies of XP/Vista...

I don't think it will. Dell actually get money from companies who want their **** pre-installed, like Norton and their 30-day trials. The price will be around the same or maybe even higher. This IS Dell we are talking about.

I doubt they can really justify charging more for installing a free operatingsystem on their PCs.
