Urgent anyone got a windows XP activation code

You can't do that, the activation keys will only work with your product key. Can't you just use the phone in activation - they normally let you?

ring up MS (they have a toll no. and a toll free no.) say, Hey, i've reformatted my PC and that I cannot validate XP, please could I validate it here over the phone....

My dad did it for his PC and it worked, in Office 2003, they made it send a hardware code so that even if you had to reformat your PC office would activate as long as the hardware codes match...

Ring up, do phone activation, type in the number shown on your screen then say that you put that XP on only 1 machine. Then, when it starts giving you a code to type in, put the phone down and do internet activation to save a bit of time.

This happened to me before, you can activate something like 5 times by phone and 5 times by internet, have you done all that?

If you wait a while, 10 days to a month and you can reactivate.

Your license also could have been removed if you upgraded to vista with an vista upgrade cd from the expired license.

Just make sure your windows is genuine, Ring up, and theyll give you a new code over the phone. If its not genuine, then dont rign up ;)
