Reset it, i think its hold down the middle and top button at the same time but im not sure. Check the apple website for this.
Also i think thats because there diffrrent formats. So get a converter if im right. Just google it:)

You cannot normally convert apple format to normal format, it moans about something. If I remember correctly, Apple are terrible with competition and add encryption too nearly all the songs you download off iTunes, which means songs can only be played on an iPod or iTunes.

hmm i had that problem with my big beefy ipod mini xD
i think this still works on new mini ones:
put ipod on hold, then take off,
then hold middle button and the menu button.
should work =]
Actually it is quite easy to decrypt the content as long as you decrypt it on the computer it is licensed to play on. There is a guy, who I forgot his name, who is responsible for cracking DVD encryption and HD DVD decryption who has made a program to 'crack' your music downloaded from iTunes. It works by connecting to apple's server to reseave the key to decrypt the music stream.

Hmmmm, sounds interesting. Just a bit of a bother if you want to send it to a friend.
My brother's girlfriend had the same problem. She just got rid of it in the end because nothign worked. Try connecting it to the computer and then taking it off.

Or be lazy and let the batteries die! Then keep re charging them!
(Or try and fix it)
Try google, or on the ipod FAQ (Google it)

You can pay $1.29 for the song instead of $0.99 to get it DRM free and higher quality.
Meaning it has no encryptions that make you only be able to put it on five computers.
If you want to convert it to WMV from there you will probably have to find a program. But why not just listen to it in iTunes.
For the iPod reset it by holding down menu and play I think it is.

1. Reset your iPod. Make sure the hold switch is off, then press the center button and the menu button and hold till you see the apple logo
2. You can't play m4a files in WMP.

Its M4P, Its Only M4A Is Its iTunes Plus (iTunes Plus 20p)

About the easiest way of getting your music into a more standard, unprotected format is by burning a CD in iTunes, then ripping it in Windows Media Player.
If you don't have a burner or CDs, the next best solution is Hymn (google it) which decrypts it, but I think it's quite hard to use.

If you're on a mac and are too cheap to pay the extra for iTunes plus then use DRM Dumpster by http://www.burningthumbs.com/ It's free, legal and decrypts your music. And is exceptionally easy to use. ;)

You can't take songs off itunes you've bought fo the itunes store because its 'protected'you can change this by putting it on disk then putting it on Windows media player that way
