Well, I've ordered a Mac that'll be here in a couple of days. I'm bored of Windows and want a change.

I'm looking at things on the creative end of the scale. With the synthesiser input available on the Mac website and Logic Express in my sights too I was just wondering if anyone else has had previous experience with the following products:

I have had experience with logic express. I find logic is the best music software out there. Its real easy to use (although i would advise abit of previous knowledge with a music program) and is worth the money!

However if your looking for the proffesional software you really cant get better then the full logic 7.2.

There are also some others like cubase - again really good but i still prefer logic.

I picked out express 'cause it's about 300 pounds cheaper than Logic Pro. I've had previous experience with music technology when I was in school and think I might've used Logic.

I needed another opinion since I only really used it to skip other lessons claiming I did coursework on there. So I didn't push it to its full potential.

Thanks for the advice though.

Did you use a midi keyboard or the on-screen stuff provided?

Sometimes if your lucky you can get a good deal on eBay which is where i bought mine off for about £300-£400 for the full version. But Express seems just as good. I must admit half of the things i dont even use on the full version.

Keyboard wise it depends what you are doing i suppose, i use both the onscreen keyboard if i just need some thing quick, but usually i use my own keyboard (Roland Juno-D) which comes in handly for recording and you can use the effects, phrase/arpeggio tool and sounds off there. Midi keyboards do the job as well, however due to personal preference i just use synths.

All the keyboards you listed are good it depends if you just want a general midi keyboard (M-Audio ones) or you want one which does abit more (Novation).
