http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/awnoes/ipod-nano-spy-shots-confirmed-as-real-by-apple-legal-292524.php

Basically, Gizmondo saw a 'spy shot' of the new iPod or a mock up of it or something, which was then removed on behalf on the Apple Legal Team (Confirming its reliablity?). Gizmondo then made the above mockup, which was their own work.

I don't think that could be real; It looks ugly as hell. Maybe Apple release these spy shots to drum up excitment and to get public opinion on their designs or something.

I think it's real, why else would they ask them to remove it? and they're hella ugly.

Looks like more of a Zune/Zen type of look really.

Maybe the thing is only 2" tall. You can't really get a sense of scale from that picture.

we were talking about it earlier, and according to a friend, the new nanos are going to be wider than they are tall so that they can play video. just a rumour tho

That's ugly, why can't they stay with just the one look? Are they that bad at designing that they have to make multiple generations?

Apple are holding an iPod special event on September 5th. It will be then that Apple will either modify the designs of the existing iPods, or make a new line of iPods (iPod Mini returns?).

There is an event in 20 minutes :) By the way, just because they requested for the images to be removed, doesn't mean it's real. According to Digg, in America, if you want to keep control of your trademark (ie. the iPod) you have to take action against anyone even indirectly infringing it, or you risk losing it.
