Okay lol, newbie ere.
Im currently using windows XP server pack 2? i think lol.
But i want to know whats all this rave over linux so if someone could answer my question i'd be very grateful.

1. Are there any specfications to put linux on a desktop/laptop.
2. Im using wireless, does linux support this?
3. Do i have to removed XP to run linux?
4. What linux is the best for noobies?

1. It depends on the distribution but 256mb ram will do fine and the most needed is 512 mb ram for openSUSE. You will need about 3-4 GB hard drive space. Basically it runs on minimal specs.

2. Hard to answer, Yes all wireless cards CAN work but some will require alot of effort to get them to work. Others will instantly work. This will need invesitgation.

3. Nope you dual boot multiple oses

4. Try either ubuntu or Mandriva.

re: to question 2.

I dont use a wireless card, i have wifi built in.. will it still work? eek!
