Hi,
I setup a linux PC before. I transfered all the files from windows but when I come to setup the internet via CD rom, it wont run setup.exe. I was told that TalkTalk internet wouldn't work but I do not understand why. So what Internet for Linux do you recommend. I was just wondering weather my BT Wireless would work if I added the adapter and installed it?
Also what virus protection software do you recommend?

Linux does not use .exe files. Just put the wireless card/dongle in and Linux may recognise it automatically or you may have to tweak Linux a bit, it would help if we knew what Linux Distro you used.
Also you don't need anti-virus on Linux.

You dont normally need a anti virus because there are a tiny amount of viruses out there for linux. And you its very hard to just 'get' a virus on linux (unlike windows where you can get a virus just being connected to the internet)
Linux does not use file extensions. .exe is a windows program and will tell windows that it is a program and to run it. Where in linux anything can be a program but you set it up with file permissons (i.e. CHMOD).
If your using wireless just set up ubuntu to connect to your wireless network with your wep key etc. You don't need the talk talk cd. I'm getting talktalk at my uni house in a few weeks, and if ur still stuck ill explain how to set it up on ubuntu.
