Gifts for Teachers
Do you/did you give gifts to teachers?
If so, what did you give?
What do you think teachers don't like to get?
What do you think they WOULD like to get?
Do you have teaching relatives (or are you a teacher yourself) and can provide some insight?
I've been blogging about this issue, on http://www.bringinghimback.blogspot.com (just linking so you know what I'm on about) and I'd love more suggestions for things not to give to teachers! And soon I'll be making a list of good suggestions for teacher gifts and why.
What do you think about my list? Am I too harsh?

No =\... Why would i do that?

It's really common to do it here in SA, I would imagine it'd also be common in Melbourne, though perhaps not in high school? (Though I always at least gave a card).

In primary school. Don't think we did it often. Then again I don't remember much back then! Defs not in highschool, not even after I graduated

Depends. If you have departments, give the whole department a box of chocolates (a big tin of them). For individual teachers we gave: wine, chocolate or pen sets :)

Never really understood the whole gift thing unless it was maternity leave or something. It's their job after all.
