Default I suggest a BIG change in some of the forum rules. EG - People Scamming

when people scam on habboxforum like selling credit codes, your policy is to cover it up and nothing happened. Well i think thats wrong. and if you say anything then you get a bloody infraction [Like me] And nothing happens to the person.
And if you have screenies what happens? HABBOX BLOODY DELETE THEM
Well i think this is a stretch in the forums power. They shouldn't be able to hide vital information that may affect other people EG SCAMMERS

The helpdesk is for Habbo realted issues only, so in future, dont post habbox related issues in the help desk. Thanks!

I was once scammed, voiced out and got an infraction, and I know how frustrating it can be but, it does state in the forum rules that accusing of scamming isnt allowed as innocent forum members may get accused by someone they didnt scam. Also notice, that when you do credit code trades and trades alike, where you have a risk of getting scammed, you trade at YOUR OWN RISK. Habbox cannot be held responsible, but think, what if you were accused of scamming when you didnt do anything? And you were called a scammer and no one would trade you? That is why the rule is in place, and it is reccommended that you only trade people you know are safe.

    Sorry, Wig44.

Okay this is a real simple concept to understand,

ANYONE on habbox forum or the internet at that actually even the free speaking world is able to accuse people of things. They can also accuse other people for things they haven't done. The way around this is simple, people use evidence.

The police will use evidence collected by them and the forensics scientists, scientists will conduct experiments to show unarguable proof of anything they claim in their theories to make a theory a fact.

Heck even here on Habbox Forum whenever a member is banned or breaks a rule we log down exactly what has been done to result in a ban in our ban records or for rule breakages in an infraction.

Now the reason we can not ban people on the forum for scamming members on the hotel is this, there is no way we can OBTAIN OUR OWN EVIDENCE! Yes, you can take a screen shots but realistically they are so easy to forge that we can not accept screen shots as evidence and to prove it to you with my Evidence I have an example of how easy it is towards the end of the post.

If a member is obviously trying to scam someone on our forums where the scam takes place (not on instant messengers, emails, voip, habbo) then we can ban them as we know the member had done this as we can see it in our own environment where we can collect our own evidence.

An example of this is if someone posted

Then we can ban someone for that as they have tried to scam a member ON THE FORUM!

The reason we say not to accuse members of scamming is simply this:

    Sierk scammed me
    -Lava- scammed me
    Callie scammed me
    Jibbi scammed me
    Ione scammed me
    I scammed me
Dont trust any of them, Don't trade them, Don't be friends with them. Hisss Booo!

It is that easy for me to make an accusation against these people but none of them have infact done anything wrong. So therefore by me saying this, other members will believe that these people are untrustworthy and obviously that is not fair because it could be possible that they are innocent.

It is especially bad when certain members plaster that "Userx scammed me of 4T" all over the forum in different threads as people believe it more and more.

If you still dont understand imagine this scenario:

    Jin's Post:
OMG -lava- scammed me of 4T
    Bob's Post:
    Man thats harsh, real harsh
    Annoying Fellers Post:
How could you be so stupid
    Jin's friend, bill's post:
    Yeah -lava- scammed me too

Now based on that if we started banning people and we banned you would it be fair?

Check out my 20 second fake screenshot

Now I think you truely appreciate why we can't ban most "scammers".

People will accuse others of things all the time and each time we do in this modern day society we really have to stick with "Innocent until proven guilty" (which frankly considering this is based on non-existant materials on a non-exisitant hotel where we at Habbox have no powers of investigation over WE CAN NOT BAN THEM)

Plus, the simple reason is if your banned, you just make a new account under a new name and email address, so its impossible to keep tracking scammers however people should only trade people that are trusted or members that have joined a while back with a clean record.

Another reason is to avoid arguments. If you post someone is a scammer and then the person who you posted about sees that then it's likely to cause a huge argument which usually leads on to other things such as swearing and rudeness etc

If this really is a big problem, we could consider making a usergroup that does not have rights to post in the trading forums. Then we could add users that we think have behaved suspiciously to that group. Of course there are still two big problems, first that people can be falsely accused and then be wrongly excluded from trading, and second that people who get excluded from trading after they scammed can make a new forum account and use that.

Besides this something else that we can do is to make stickies in the trading forums with a list of members that have been nominated by others as being reliable, and that way help to prevent people from getting scammed.
These stickies would be updated by a moderator, and somebody would need for example 3 nominations from different members to be added.
