continuing on from that labour argument, and the fact you're being lazy.
MAD took two days that i know of to install a chat that barely anyone uses, and that cost tons. i dont know how cheap skins are, but im sure they're not $200+ (which is what the chat cost, if i remember correctly from a site nvrspk showed me).
we have provided links to a skin, and a little hack that'll divert mobile users to that skin, and i dont think either of them cost anything (i could be wrong tho). why can you just take the couple of hours that it'll take and actually install them

it's all very well and good saying you'll need to update them everytiem you upgrade the forum, and that takes a while, fair enough. but habbox has 6 other skins, and you've never moaned about them before, why start now when we want you to introduce a skin that we've chosen, instead of the crappy ones that we dont have a say on.

Very good point raised. The chat is deserted now, and I pity the VIPs who wasted their money on that feature when it could of gone to better use, and I furthermore pity them when they're paying for a service which doesn't give very good feedback  I beleive some members are starting to not buy VIP because of this? Could be wrong, there were rumours and mentions before.

It is just lazyness, the demand is there and the work shouldn't be in the equation when you can add pointless features no-one uses "/ or changes to features people use and didn't need drastic changes as we have seen with the rep system...

I'm not saying you're a liar or anything, but that wasn't me. Maybe you heard it from someone else? I know I repeated a number I heard somewhere of $200 but I never saw a site to prove it, later I believe Jin thought it was free, so if you've found a price that's cool but I'm not a good source on the price of that thin g

You provided links to a skin?! That's news to me. If I had known that in the first place we might have been able to consider it. Maybe if its possible to create a mobile subdomain with the skin applied (like iphone.facebook.com or whatever), we could look into that (I'd have to ask Jin about the technical feasibility, I'm no expert on that.) Perhaps there was a reason that too was not enacted but if there is an actual ready-to-use skin available then we might consider adding that.

I actually am not 100% sure where the argument about updating the skins popped up, the only reason I even mentioned it was Gomme said it would be easier. As for the skin, I can't say how much extra time it would cost us, but I believe as far as the time factor goes we were talking about the creation of the skin itself as opposed to the upkeep of the skin. May be wrong on that one.

I see the mistake I made now. Its rather pointless replying to your posts. You aren't posting for the sake of bettering Habbox. You're posting for the sake of ripping management. Your motivation has nothing to do with creating a better Habbox, its of you being the "hero" and taking jabs at management every chance you get for whatever reason you have. You simply quoted his post to restate your point and throw in a jab at management because you saw an opportunity.

Please don't try and act like an expert on management's motives. What you're missing is that you're acting like its our job to do whatever the hell you want. No. Its our community too. What is the point of Habbox? Is it to make money? No. Its to create a friendly environment. We want to create the best environment we can among management. Hell, what other reward do we get? Think about it. What benefits do we reap from being on the Staff other than being a part of making Habbox the best we can? Because I sure as hell don't work here just so I can click the ban button and feel all the power coursing through my veins, as much as some would like to believe it.

By the way, comments you make criticizing my work really have absolutely no effect on me. You can throw sticks and stones all day and you won't make a dent I really don't know what happened to you Gomme. You used to be a respectable guy, now you've turned into someone who's a contrarian with no apparent purpose but to make attacks on management in any way you can, be it rational or not.
It costs nothing to be a good friend.

My advice - someone set up a test vBulletin (you're allowed one per license, as long as it is protected via htaccess and located in a 'testvb' directory), give some designers access, and go wild. Once you've come up with something, give MAD a yell, give him access to the vBulletin and let him see for himself. I think the majority of posters in this thread are missing out on the point that Management aren't saying no to the idea because they don't want to make the community happy - they are saying no because they can't see the idea working, and don't want to waste time in something that is pointless. All you can do is attempt to prove them wrong

Actually it's not just me who wants to better Habbox by removing all management (except Jake), there are hundreds of people, most who happen to work for Habbox because the Management really don't care, and one of them is you nvrspk4 "/ Why would I want to become a hero? How can I? I can't, I have no such powers so no, I can't become a hero and I don't wish to be. I see you are losing this argument, I've seen it all before. You play the "put words in people's mouths" game, by putting make-beleive titles on people to try and make others follow. Sadly it doesn't work for anyone above the age of 14 with more brain cells than the one who previously thought up said title.

You don't have to be an expert to know how management work, heck you're not an expert, MAD isn't an expert, sierk isn't an expert, otherwise you would be bettering the community, which is what you are not doing. You ignore people, you talk down to people, you're arrogant, you're aim is to not better Habbox, you're not looked up to, other's have done a better job, other's even tell you how to do you're jobs who were ex-management.

And this is where you fail with Habbox, you said it yourself "No. Its to create a friendly environment. We want to create the best environment we can among management." No one cares for the management, people want a community which is for teens and created by teens. At the moment it is a muddled up community created by teens who don't want to talk to people who are 'lower' than them, nor talk to teens like a teenager. I put forward these questions

Why don't you act your age?
Why don't you value your members?
What is Habbox's Aim (members, community etc)?
Why don't you listen to members who use the forums for opinions?
Why do you ban members for no reason?
Why do you think banning members solves anything?
Why the frequent need to think you're always right, when most possibly all of the forum are around the same age as you and are just as smart and dumb as you? You're not always right, you get proven wrong frequently by other members.

You seem to think the only reward for working for Habbox is to work amount management... You can reap a stronger reward talking to members as if you were one. This "I am in management, I should act like a 30 year old" act is incredibly boring and doesn't gain you any respect. Take Jake as an example, down to earth and fun. Take half the management team, wouldn't know what fun is if it bit them hard on the bottom and they act as if they've never been to earth "/

And I've not changed, you have, by thinking you're better than other people. And if you cannot accept the stones and sticks thrown at you well then, prepare to not be respected on a forum where respect worked well back in the Seacat and JackHb days, where they ran a community, not a chicken farm where members are not looked at, talked down to, and exterminated for no reason what so ever. Also, weren't you the one who questioned management decisions when you were in the council? Why have you all of a sudden turned into a berk?!

If you can't take management being bulled, quit. Because it is the management which are the problem here, not the community and sadly I have to stick up for them because no one else can...

yup, someone suggested the idea earlier on in this thread, or maybe another thread in the feedback forum, and a lot of people, including 'famous' users like Ostinato aren't buying untill we see something that we want.

i wasnt quite sure if it was you or not, it was an AGM tho, im pretty sure of it, sorry for accusing you
edit; i cant find it now, and i cant search for it because it was inside a quote, and those dont show up on the search.

we provided links about 3 pages back maybe, which were all just looked over. and that sub-domain idea sounds like a great idea tbh, i cant see why that would be a problem.

i think it was MAD that said about updating skins, dont quote me on it tho

Gomme, whilst I agree with some of your sentiments particuarly with reference to the loss of personal friendly communication, interaction and the generalised authoritarian 'like it or lump it' non-empathetic attitude of some I really do not think Nvrspk4 can be accused of any of these. Of all people he is the one who has always fought hard for the members and has always been approachable and helpful but never has wielded the hand of power in a inconsidered irresponsible fashion which as the staff editor would have been very easy to do. Originally Habbox got tougher because of bullying and he was absolutely right about that. It seems to have gone way beyond that now but that's not his department. This arguement seems to have got to the stage of something that does not become you at all.

I have been thinking a lot about this and the problem is that unfortunately for Habbox not everyone considers their actions or has Habbox at heart in the same way as Nvr. Sure he fights his corner as you do but that is 500% better than being completely ignored then finding completely draconious measures introduced to get rid of the 'trouble makers'. He has a tough job to do and could not be ever classified in the immature, press the ban button, gung-ho merchants whose intelligence levels are not perhaps up to doing the job especially on situations where good judgment is called for. The trouble is that it only has to be 2 or 3 people like this and others that are recruited after follow on because that is the example that has been set.

I have a lot of respect for quite a few of the Habbox staff and Nvr is certainly one of them.

I really do not understand how you can continue flaming nvr after the posts he made seeming interested in pursuing the feasability of it. If anything, I'd respect him for that as he appears to be acting independantly of what MAD has said, which I think shows commitment towards the members and habbox, I don't see how it can be interpreted as anything else.

The key word is "flaming." Something which should be kept to PM because it isn't pleasant for the members to read flame wars between two or three people. If it wasn't an AGM involved, I'd close the thread here and now because the issue has been lost in amongst the insults and personal attacks.

    My two cents anyway.
