D: Jamess...., You already know my opinion on this D: ., but thanks for being great staff x.
I'm not perfect but I'll keep trying.
It's quite seldom that I post in such threads, although I wont overlook a staffmember who's be here for so long going.
You've had a good run, James--longer than most! If you'd ever like to rejoin you know who to PM![]()
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
if it's seldom that you post in these threads, and only on james' when here's been here so long
why didn't you make him hxhd asst..
Right I think it's time I strutted into this thread and dispelled some myths!
Allow me to begin with a situation which I experienced in real life. A couple of years ago after I decided to drop out of sixth form, I started working full time at Boots the Chemist while I waited to join the army. It was only ever meant to be a temporary position, and I did not expect to progress. A few months down the line, I was promoted to a supervisory position above people who had been there as long as 20 years. I was on a bigger annual salary than people who had been there longer than I had even lived. My point? The time spent within a job does not necessarily indicate that you will eventually get promoted. More important is individual circumstances surrounding the job role that is available and those that have the potential to fill it.
So why is this relevant to the current situation? Because a lot of you are saying that James' long term stint at HxHD should mean default promotion to Assistant Manager. This is not the case - not that I am saying his dedication and commitment have went unnoticed, because quite the contrary it is something I respect him tremendously for. However, as I say, this does not mean natural progression into the next level.
When promoting a member of staff to (Assistant) Department Manager we consider a great many things, and to clarify "a great many things" does not include whether the prospective manager is dating the current manager. Additionally, when I say "we" I mean General Management - who ultimately make the decision, and as such any romantic relationship (or relationship of any kind) will do very little to benefit any prospective manager.
When promoting someone we have to consider compatibility between the current manager and the candidates available for promotion. In this instance as a unit, going by our observation of the department and opinions from those within it, we felt that RNB.Queen would be one of the ideal choices according to this requirement. Smooth communication and understanding is a key part of the Assistant and Manager relationship, and where this communication fails it can (and I know this from personal experience) cause a department a lot of problems and embarrassment for all involved. David's style of management is suited to Shar's own personality and as such this made her an ideal choice.
Of course this does not negate the fact that James has worked very hard to achieve high aims within HxHD and I must say it is a terrible shame he chose to leave given that if at any point any individual within the HxHD Management team decided to move on he would have unquestionably been next in line to move into a managerial position. Of course the decision to resign was his own and I respect that, and wish him the very best of luck in HxL where I am sure he will continue to show his dedication to Habbox and his ability to perform as one of our most valued members of staff.
