Nov 2006: Alexander Litvinenko dies in London
May 2007: UK accuses ex-KGB agent Andrei Lugovoi of murder
July: Russia refuses British request to extradite Mr Lugovoi
July: UK expels four Russian diplomats
July: Russia expels four British embassy staff
Dec: Russia orders British Council to shut two offices

Basically that's whats happened to make the countrys argue, wonder if another Cold War could be on it's way? Personally I think the Russians are acting like complete morons.

Don't forget when they flew near Scotland to 'Test' are responses, demonstrating the lovely but expensive EuroFighter jets - They also did that to the American's in Guam too. Also they accused MI6 of hiding Microphones in rocks to spy on the KGB (Or whatever it's called these days).

Russia doesn't want to be loved it wants to be respected
, they think fear is respect in Russia, that's why they're wrong and won't fit in the World Community.

Both UK and Russia just appear to be taking little digs at each other, so a little Cold War could happen, not on the scale of the USA & USSR Cold War though.

I doubt another Cold War will start, most countries would get involved, and the Russian Government would have wished that they hadn't ever started it.

Yeah, The Russians are trying it on with us. I remember when they flew some of their cold war bombers near our airspace but got worried when we sent up our Typhoons.

I'd be interested to see if America would "return the favour" if Russia declared war with us.

pfft yeah right, for tony blair perhaps but Gordon Brown has been distancing himself from the US. I doubt they would help us until we had pretty much been blown to bits.

The US would help us, just like it was going to help Berlin against the soviets if Berlin was invaded which thankfully never happened.

If anyone ever did start war on the UK, then we would have help from the USA almost straight away, because russia has alot of gas.
Australia would be soon to follow and if it came to the point the queen can get australia to help us too.
The UN would probs come help us before that though.

So i wouldnt worry about that, also regarding the bombers they went into netherlands NATO area too, it wasnt like we were not expecting them because the netherlands contacted us so we just followed them on from there.

I doubt anything will happen soon, if russia wanted to get us then they shut off our gas, thats how we would be effected the most id say.

The UN are useless, it would take over a year for them to set anything up and debate whether it's right, and that would be called fast for the UN. The UN does nothing at all for us, and it does everything far far to slowly with way to many departments. It's took them years to make decision's on North Korea's Nuclear weapons, by then though they'd almost constructed them. And they still haven't made their mind up on Iran and Israel etc, they just take to long.

The EU isn't much quicker either.
