Well everyone has to start somewhere. As a totally useless artist myself I think they look quite colourful and attractive but it would be advisable to accept the advice of the better pixel artists on here. Good luck! =]

Take your work further and use brushes, tools gradient etc.

u should probably search for the average banner size, i forgot what i use on mine XP
maybe even buy Photoshop, i use photoshop cs2.
And search for lots of photoshop tutorials and download wicked brushes for it
