    Default DVD player rattling?

We have a 4-5 year old Yamada DVD player. I placed a brand new DVD I ordered in it. Played for about 40 minutes, then started stuttering quite badly (sound AND picture) and rattling a bit. Took the disc out and put it in again, same problem, but straight away. It'll probably be replaced, but what is the problem with it?

No. It's that new Clarkson DVD, Duel, if that helps.

We'll try and see what the problem is at the weekend, and if it fails we'll ditch it.

Is it used often? If it worked fine before and it doesn't work now chances are it's the DVD player. I don't think Yamaha is a good brand, I thought they only made musical instruments. You can pick-up a decent Sony DVD player for $60-70 at Walmart, heck you could get a Sony Blu-Ray player for $99 after Christmas!
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

    Couple of points.

    1. Its a Yamada (some foreign thing)
    2. I'm british, it's a damn long trip to Wal-Mart (9 hour flight )

It isn't used that often, but i think we have a spare DVD player we can use until we can pick up a cheap Blu-Ray.
