We've learnt German at our school for the last 3 or so years and I still only just know a few words other than the basics. I hate it...it's boring.

I did want to do German for GCSE, but unfortunately I couldn't. I did it from year 7 - 9.

Here's a handy saying (I think it's right anyway):
"Was ist das auf Englisch?"- What is that in English?

HALLO, ICH HEISER MATT. ICH WOHNEE IN ENGLAND. WIE FINDEST DU MATHE SCHRECKLICH.

(Hello, my name is Matt. I live in England. I hate maths!)

Translation into proper German:

Hallo, Ich heiße Matt. Ich wohne in England. Ich hasse Mathe...

WIE FINDEST DU MATHE SCHRECKLICH means "how do you find maths terrible?

The original poster used an online translator, if you said half that stuff to a German, they'd understand but they'd look at you funny. English doesn't translate accurately into German.

Here's the actual sentences:

Hello, how are you? - Hallo, wie gehts?

I am fine, thanks. - Ich bin gut, danke. Fein isn't the correct word to use in this situation - it's percieve differently in German.

English - Englisch

I am bored - Ich bin gabort

Chicken - Huhn

We come in peace - Wir kommen in Frieden - Frieden means outdoors, as in a peacefil out doors surrounding :p And, I am unsure how you'd say it in this context.

Online translators = NIL Point.

I am fine, thanks. - Ich bin fein, Dank. - Eeeech bin fine, dank.
English - Englisch - Eng-leesh
I am bored - Ich werde gebohrt - Eeeech were-d geh-bort
Chicken - Huhn - Hun
We come in peace - Wir kommen in Frieden - Vir kom-en in fry-den

Well thats how you prounounce them, I think, in red.

Plus non of this really makes sense, it's been put into something like Babel - Baybell - and I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, maybe someone has. Infact someone has, can't remember their name.

Definately just been translated online, because of the words are being used in the wrong context - like Frieden, that is refering to an open space, outside... lol.

And, as you've said, they make no sense. I did German at GCSE, so these phrases are quite easy for me. Bar the last.
