Forum & Server Limitations
Recently in the last two weeks we have all been experience forum delays or laag time during prime time browsing. This has been due to so many users browsing posting and searching the forums. As a result of this the server load has risen to a critical high level often crashing the servers many times daily.
Habbox Forum regrets to announce that the following TEMPORARY limitations have been placed in order to keep server load low whilst we organise possible solutions to the problems. These changes will be around for approximatly 5 days however this length may change at any given time due to occurances beyond our control.
The changes are:
45 seconds between each new thread and post created
30 seconds between each new search
3 Day Cached Post Lifespan (basically posts are stored temporarily on your computer in the cache for 3 days rather than 7)
Filtering of some words in search including "Of An A Habbo* it the and" and certain profanities.
30 seconds between each PM sent
60 seconds between each email sent (not applied to VIP @habboxforum.com emails)
175 active users online on the forum at one time.
Server Load limit*** "Habbo" is filtered from searchs as the term is used to describe many things so it sends back large amount of data.
EG: "I am a Habbo and I am having a problem", "habbo have released a new competition", "HabboHotel.co.uk is larger than habbohotel.com" etc.
** Most websites run under 1.0 server load, Habbox forum currently with limitations is still running at almost 5 times that. During high server load times users will be displayed with a "Server Busy" message.
The Future Solution
We have looked into the case of our problems with the server and the only possible solution so that these changes do not remain permanent is for us to have a large server upgrade however this may take sometime which we predict to be about 5 days, this is obviously not an official eta of when the
limitations will be lifted so please do not contact us if they limitations are still around for longer than the time specified. During the designated transfer the services of Habboxforum.com and possibly other habbox sites may become temporarily unavailible I can assure you we will work as fast as possible to return the sites back to you.
We apologies for any inconveniences caused and hope to restore normal service soon.
