Valentines Love - Ends 23rd February

Valentines day is arriving soon and we are all waiting for our valentine cards and presents. But what is Valentines Day all about really? Is it the love between 2 people? Is it the flowers? Is it the chocolates? Well here is your chance to tell us what you think Valentines Day is about but in a poetic form. What I would like you to do is to write a small poem on what you think Valentines Day is about. So what are you waiting for? Rhyming!

Valentine's Day

The dark days of the Roman Empire,
Were almost at their peak,
St Valentine was cast in jail;
His future very bleak.

The legends say the Emperor,
Stopped marriges all together,
But Valetine, a Catholic Priest,
Defied him, and was clever...

But perhaps St Valentine only helped,
The Christians escape their fate,
In the prisons the harshness reigned,
But he was caught quite late.

Now, about the History,
This we think for sure,
He sent a letter to a girl,
Under her jail door.

The tale of his deed did spread,
Far and wide, through time, they said,
When Roman power came crashing down,
The tale survived from town to town.

But what did Valentine die for?
For Freedom of Love, and CHOICE,
So when they ask what the Day's about,
For freedom, we rejoice!

For Valentine would die in vain,
If his morals didn't live,
For me, Valetine's Day is all about,
The Choice of whom to be with.

Valentines Day, what's it about?
Chocolates, flowers or all of that?
In this poem you shall find out,
Read on, and it will fall pat.

Valentines Day, lovers get met,
One gives flowers, the other gets loved.
They fall in the lovers net,
Kissing and hugging, it never get stopped.

All of a sudden, one takes another home,
And drinking and eating, all until midnight,
The beer comes out, covered in foam,
"I need to go home" she said with fright.

Valentines Day, full of love and hope,
Because of that Saint Valentines, centuries ago,
He would've almost became Pope,
But he died ages ago.

so now noone loves anyone

Love isn't about chocolate,presents and gifts
Its about you and your loved one walking through the evening drifts
But if it takes a long time
They will say "will you be my Valentine?"

They love you lots they love you none
They love that you are really fun
With one kiss and a hug
They even got you a love mug

It is just the thought
So now im here to tell you
