Who do you think the best footballer is? Tell me if you think someone else should be on the list.

-Soro-
05-01-2005, 10:09 AM
That's not even half the greatest players in the world though to be honest, where's Adriano? Anyway, out of that lot I've voted Giggs. After all, he did win the treble with United didn't he? ;)

Mit
05-01-2005, 11:27 AM
i voted Zidean. after all, he did win the world cup, euro 2000, the champions league once, the la liga a couple of times and the spanish fa cup. basically in one year i think he won four trophies. Lmao

-Soro-
05-01-2005, 12:24 PM
Yeah, I probably would have voted him too, but I just don't like him at all.

aye Zidane was de best in his day but now he's old. Ithink Giggs is in great form after United didnt offer him a mor ethan 1 year contract

zidane is getting a wee bit old now, but i still voted for him. I don't like real Madrid but he is a brilliant player. Otherwise i would have voted for ronaldinho cuz hes gd :p

06-01-2005, 07:50 PM
I voted Henry, not because of his status but because hes a foreigner to England, he has won the FA Cup twice and the Premiership twice.

Sheringham or Defore or Mendes should be there aswell.

-Soro-
06-01-2005, 08:33 PM
Sherringham? I thought this was current footballers? Sherringham shined in the past, and if we're going to bring past footballers into this poll, you'll end up having a choice out of hundreds, yes hundreds of footballing legends... Too many to count.

Convictions
07-01-2005, 06:56 AM
sheringham is still shining now for west ham/aston villa , i dont catch much english soccer but i do when i can.I think he'll retire in 2 seasons time though

-Soro-
07-01-2005, 06:56 PM
Maybe he's playing well for them, but he's not up there with the European superstars, Sherringham is past his prime, but I did used to love his football. :)

07-01-2005, 10:27 PM
I voted Nedved because he is an amazing European player. If him and Davids were along side each other, they would be unstoppable :)

07-01-2005, 11:23 PM
What about Shevchenko. He's an amazing striker. I could have voted Henry, but he's had his chance...

-Soro-
08-01-2005, 02:48 PM
Also, yep, Andriy Shevchenko deserves a place up there...

I voted henry some of the stuff he does is play amazing! The class he has is untrue when he's on a good day there ain't nobody going to stop him! :P Despite this i am a Liverpool fan :D

its got to be ronaldiniho hes a class apart. just watch a barcelona match one day and concentrate on him hes magic. henrys not as good as last season and season before. for me it was close between ronaldinho and lampard

Heh, I've met him, and Luis Garcia, and Carlos Puyol last season on my holiday in Barcelona.

Haha, I got Luis Garcia's autograph in a shop (a big, BIG one).

But I saw Carlos Puyol having a fitness test in the Nou Camp, and Ronaldinho was around that day too. Only managed to speak to Luis Garcia though, which is a bummer - I hate him, he plays for Liverpool... Speaking of the scousers, 1-0, 1-0! Woooo!!

Gabriel heinze should be up there, amazing season this year and what a performance against liverpool and chelsea

SSC7
17-01-2005, 09:52 PM
What about Shevchenko. He's an amazing striker. I could have voted Henry, but he's had his chance...
I didnt put him because whenever I see him play he doesnt impress me. He is kinda like those strikers who are good at first, then get full of themselves and get lazy, then diminish as players. Um...Defoe? I don't think he's a world class player yet. Too young. Maybe someday. Figo i sold now and can be ok at times but totally pants at others. Adriano I totally forgot about untill you mentioned him :eusa_doh: . Davids was great in his day but is old now. Larrson could be up there. Name some others....

he is a great player and does awesome tricks :)

wheres beckham? hes the only one i know. how can i vote for people i dont know?

-Soro-
18-01-2005, 04:10 PM
If you knew anything about football, you'd know Beckham wasn't worthy of plalying for my school, let alone for his country.

SSC7
19-01-2005, 10:02 PM
Lol yeah he's pants. People who don't know much about football always say somethign about David Beckham because of his reputation. When I went to the U.S one of my cousin's mates kept asking me if I could bend it like beckham  But the only good things is that the american chicks love the accent there :D

-Soro-
20-01-2005, 07:32 PM
But the only good things is that the american chicks love the accent there :D

Oh boy yes they do, I remember my time in LA, the chicks there love the british accent. ;)

But back on subject, Beckham should be dropped and stripped of his England captain armband, bring on SWP!

SSC7
21-01-2005, 03:23 AM
Lol aye. SWP should be playing on the flank instead of beckster. Michael Carrick has been playing really well lately so maybe they could even put him on the left since Bridge is hurt.

stanfordstud2
21-01-2005, 05:33 AM
hes the best. hes not pants. your favorite is pants.

see what i just did there? i posted a classic habbox forum sports post. theres alot of talking but where the evidence? noones backing nething up.

-Soro-
21-01-2005, 04:45 PM
I'll give you evidence, Euro 2004 - countless missed penalties... Spain vs England - did you see his performance?? Wow, if you've watched one of his recent international games you would know what I feel about him, and if you did and think his performance was good, you have a bad judgement of football players.

He's good when he plays well, but what I'm saying is he's not being consistant enough there.

By the way, who are you to judge what a classic Habbox sports post is being here since December...? Start respecting other people's views than slating them man, that's a suggestion.

SSC7
22-01-2005, 02:15 AM
I agree. Plus if you knew him like we do you wouldn't need us to put evidence. Only if you didnt knwo who he was. He's a fashion icon not a footballer anymore

EDIT: adding on with -Soro-

'98 world cup - Sent off against Argentina for a stupid flick at a player while he was on the ground

'02 World Cup - Avoided a crucial tackle against Roberto Carlos by jumping over his legs when he came in. Carlos set up a goal afterwards.

'04 Euro - Missed a PK against France which would've put us 2 ahead and wouldve won the game. Went on in the quarter finals and skied another PK which could've won us the game again.

He makes excuses and I don't think he is a good leader. Imagine Beckham trying to yell at Campbell with his girly voice.

Should be captains:

-Campbell
-Gerrard
- Ferdinand
-Lampard

-Soro-
22-01-2005, 03:32 PM
Exactly, too many mistakes and bad performances to count, in all of our world cup qualifiers he has not performed at all.

stanfordstud2
22-01-2005, 04:02 PM
beckham is the man

-Soro-
22-01-2005, 04:21 PM
Based on which of his recent performances? Name the match and we'll see.

So? Just because he's better en me doesnt prove anything. Compare him to some of the best players in the world and u'll c

-Soro-
23-01-2005, 03:23 PM
hes better then you

I don't care, my point is that he's supposed to play consistantly good for his country, I'm not comparing him to me - nor is anyone else, but at that level you must perform. He's not performing, and if you think he is, you don't know the real David Beckham - the old one.

No doubt about who is the player most on form recently, and the one who has contributed the most to the country. Let's all hail Steven Gerrard.

-Soro-

What skills? he doesn't use dribbling skills, give me an example... Name the match he recently performed well in and I'll take a look.

30 Odd Goals A Season Is Class

What do you mean he won the cups?
A team makes a team, not one player...
Juat because he played for a team that have won many cupsit doesn't mean he's good...

But i Do agree, he is good.
I voted stevie gerrard, he is on briliant form! :o :D

-Soro-
03-02-2005, 07:13 PM
He played a bigger part in winning most of those cups than any other player on his team at most times, and being the former world player of the year several times, I think he is entitled to say 'he' won those cups somehow.

SSC7
03-02-2005, 08:29 PM
Aye he contributed the most in those big matches. I was at the Euro 2000 finals, but I was only 9 so I couldnt c over that many peoples heads but he did play well. '98 world cup (also there) he played very well in all his matches and scored 2 goals in the final (wasnt at that though :( ). La Liga he led Real Madrid and he scored alot of goals and set others up, so yeah he definatly was a key factor.
