I think its rubbish. Who would spend £800,000 on a car? It may be fast, and look good, but its a rip-off.

I agree, Its way too much to be spending on a car.

It is the best!!! The price - £840 000 is nothing compared to the approximate £5 000 000 it costs to produce each car. Therefore Volkswagon (who own Bugatti) are making a huge loss every time they sell a Veyron. The car was made as an experiment, and it was for developing new technology. The Veyron is electronically limited to a top speed of 253 mph. Theoretically it can go fater, but it is limited to this to prevent tyre damage. The Veyron will brake from top speed to zero in less than 10 seconds.

According to Jeromy Clarkson, the McLaren F1 (the fastest production car before the Veyron, and had a top sped of 240 mph) could be allowed to reach 120 mph before the Bugatti started, with the Bugatti still being first to reach 200 mph.

So actually it may be extremely expensive, but it's certainl not a rip off when you consider the £5 000 000 it costs to make each car.

It may be fast and powerful but who would spend £810,000 on a car that looks like that?

Its a lush car!

If you put a bit of logical thought to it, the people who are buying these cars are multi millionaires, £800,000 is peanuts to them.

I wouldn't say no to it.

True I suppose :P But can't see the point in buying a car that goes 240 mph when the fastest you will get it on the roads legally is 70mph?

Thats why most people with fast cars and motorcycles go to Jersey ;) they don't have speed limits there.

Yeah its like that in the Isle Of Man too but they still won't get it up to 240mph on roads there...

I know that but its the sheer fact that when someone looks at your Bugatti, they know what its capable of. And c'mon, theres only 8 in the whole of UK itself, there a rare car, its definitly something you'd look twice at.

Yeah I know people would look at it twice but I wouldn't spend £810,000 on a car like that. Just my opinion though...

Obviously wouldn't purchase one if I didn't have the money to run it, but if I did, i'd have one.

You are right it is expensive but dont you think if you have alot of money around and can afford it + want it, why not buy it? clearly someone buying a car like that £800.000 or something wouldnt be much of a loss to them.

Owners
Confirmed owners include:

The wife of Ferdinand Piëch - the former VW chairman's wife, who requested chassis number 007, was the first person on the waiting list [5]

Tim Cahill - the Australian footballer's girlfriend Rebekah Greenhil was caught trying to park it in central Manchester [6]

Michael Fux - a car collector who test-drove the car during a trip to Pebble Beach in August 2005 [7]

Ralph Lauren - the fashion designer, bought one in black [8]

Bob Manoukian - dodged the waiting list by buying his Veyron for £1.1m at a charity auction in London in June 2006 [9]

Tom Cruise - The famous actor arrived at the Mission Impossible III premiere in a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 2006 [10]

Thomas Bscher - was to be one of the first owners, until he was appointed as the chairman of Bugatti, as a result, he allowed his waiting list position to be ceded to others. He hopes to collect his Veyron in September.[11]
