A wollyback (IMO) is someone who supports a team for the glory.
#
E.g Liverpool & United.

To prove that your not supporting them for the glory name 10 places in your teams town.

E.G Liverpool:

Widnes
Anfield
Everton
New brighton
Toxteth
Bootle
Whiston
Huyton
Birkenhead
Wirral
Tranmere
Ellesmere Port

Well, some people will let you off with Bootle and Huyton, but true scousers don't ;)

If you mean areas with a different postcode then I can't be bothered straining my mind, since only 5-6 come to my mind, but if you mean known areas, then here we go.

-Aigburth
-Toxteth
-Dingle
-Garston
-The Mud/Under the Bridge
-Speke
-Smithdown
-Allerton
-Picton
-Wavetree

Dingle can be counted and Toxteth and Mudland is in Garston. I'm not sure if Picton is classed as Wavetree or not, so whatever.

Oh, and Woolyback means from most of the areas you named for me :p Anywhere around the St.Helens area, mostly, like Whiston :p

This is stupid, people could just look on the internet for towns ! :p

and my MAIN TEAM is Lincoln City, by a mile, i just support Liverpool as a second team, a team i like to watch, especially as theyre quite often on TV !

Therefore by supporting Liverpool I am not a glory hunter, glory hunters really are people that support a "big" team more then there local team. End of :)

Chelsea's ground is in the Hammersmith and Fulham district of London tyvm, and I don't even support them!

Do you really need to name districts if your a Middlesbrough fan and want to prove you're not a glory supporter?! I'll tell you games I've sat through when I've wanted to kill myself or throw MY season ticket at the manager.

I laughed so hard. Really, i've not been here for 2 years, i hate united.

Call me a glory hunter if you will, but before we had billions, we were in 2nd-3rd place in the leauge.

You can't accuse someone af glory hunting when you've never met them, i still have my very first chelsea shirt from when i was 4. Thats what a true fan is.

Lmao Bellamy will get too many goals for liverpool to be bothered with wales this season... I thought woolybacks were people who are from liverpool but dont talk with an accent cos they dont live there or they just pretend to be from liverpool... I get called it all the time cos I was born in fazakerely but I used to live in southport for most of my life... anyways, i support liverpool so I should go and name some places right?
anfield, fazakerely, bootle, huyton, old swan, toxteth...

I like arsenal too... thats weird...

I can't be bothered listing all the ones by me, I am a Everton Fan though as my Dad is a scouser.

Also, a 'woolyback' is actually the term for someone who comes from either Crewe or Winsford, Cheshire.

ty love you too. Nah I think the prem is being ruined by all this money and takeovers that are happening, some clubs don't have a chance in hell to compete. The premier league is so commercialised now, it doesn't seem real anymore.

Woollyback is a dialect term used in Liverpool, England for a non-Liverpudlian

The term usually refers to a person from the neighbouring towns of St Helens, Widnes, Warrington and Wigan, as these places each share a similar accent to each other, though substantially different from Liverpool's 'scouse'. The term may also be used to simply refer to somebody that is not from Liverpool. Originally it was a nickname for those people who worked on the docks in Liverpool, who used to carry the wool for export onto the ships and were therefore called 'woollybacks'.

Lol this is seriously a problem.

I class a scouser as someone who has been born n bred in the heart of Liverpool, and i class that as like mainly, Anfield, Everton, Tuebrook, Breckroad, priory road ways.

Places, like Garston, Aigburth, Kirby, Speke, Toxteth is just too far out of the heart of Liverpool.

Also people from Speke/Aigburth are stuck up and have a posh accsent and don't even talk like scousers, so how can they be classed as a real scouser?
