Everton skipper David Weir has been taken to hospital after a clash of heads during the Carling Cup third round tie with Luton at Goodison Park (on Tuesday night).
The Scotland international collided with Luton's Leon Barnett as they challenged for an aerial ball in the dying seconds of the first half as Everton led their Championship visitors 2-0.
Weir was knocked out by the collision. He was stretchered from the field and regained consciousness in the dressing room before being taken to hospital as a precaution.
Head physio Mick Rathbone told evertonfc.com: "David Weir has undergone x-rays and they were all clear.
"He will be kept in hospital overnight for observation and we will have another look at him in the morning."
Oh noes! Hope he's okay.
