Ricky Ponting - 137 Not out.

The swine.

Nice to see Ashley Giles get a wicket already though. Shame James Anderson has had some wild overs aswell. >_>

Aussies were 347 - 3 at close of play.. I think?

funny thing is, monty is one of the people whose being nominated for sports personality of the year & hes not playing even though hes on top form

england still got to face brett lee who can slog sixes easily:rolleyes:

As well as Gilchrist & Warne too.

I think they need Giles' experience, but need the legs & form of Panesar.
Drop Anderson, he doesn't do well in batting either. :D

How poor are we playing.

I didn't realise they dropped Monty & Chris Reed for this sort of situation, that's pretty pathetic.
(Situation being, to get a few more runs, but like 1 of the announcers said "I'd prefer to have someone who can take 5 wickets, rather than get a quick 30 runs")

Credit to McGrath, his bowling was very good.

And Flintoff.. wow, astounded at his duck. same with Gilchrists too

eventhough Flintoff went for a golden duck, hes still the main man to do something

why have the best all round cricketer (Flintoff) as the captain, hes already got enough on his hands & doesn't want more work
for example the legend all round ian botham was made captain and it's too much work and he was then stopped being captain and was back to his usual best

urm i think it's safe to say england are going to lose the first test
& the ausises have decided to bat first in the 2nd innings which tells us theyare going for an ashes record hammering, with over 500 runs difference.
they'll get as many runs as they can quickly then bowl england out for about 100 runs for 10 to do this record hammering

steve harmerson is meant to be englands fast bowler  he needs to start playing. monte panasaar should have being there :eusa_clap

Flintoff didn't go for a golden duck, he went for a duck. (golden duck's are out on your first ball).
Yeah I agree with what you said about Captaincy, and Strauss seemed to preform better as captain
I think the only hope for England is a Draw now, I think Aussie's will bat til lunch on day 4, then make england bat on. >.>

all but lost. Gotta hand it to them, England are ok at bowling but seriously are shocking at batting. When was the last time they made it over 100 withut losing a wicket ? Seems like all the time before they get to 100 they have to lose 3 or 4 wickets..

Smiddy

And so we go and lose by 277 runs.

Fantastic.
