Got Science Test results back from the one we did in January.

Out of 100 marks I got 81, getting me an A. :)
Have you got your results back?

I got a C tbh :( I was well gutted. But I got an A* in my Unit 1 coursework section. Im still gonna resit the Unit 2 exam in the Summer again, cus there is nothing to lose except £15. Also, I'm on my way to getting A/A* in my Unit 3, but it isnt all finished yet. 3 weeks to go :8

I got like 85's to 90's which about A* for all three :)

Sammeth.

Teh boundries are;

90 - 100 = A*
80 - 89 = A
70 - 79 = B
60 - 69 = C
50 - 59 = D
40 - 49 = E
30 - 39 = F
16 - 29 = G
15- = U

3 off an A but B is good enough for me tbh

As Sammeth has already displayed the grade boundaries in marks, it isn't an A* for all three.
You would have had A's for those in 80's and A*'s for those in 90's.

i got a d.

Sammeth.
13-03-2007, 11:12 PM
Also, you have to add up Unit 1, 2 and 3 together to get a mark out of 300. Here are the boundries for that:

270+ - A*
240+ - A
210+ - B
180+ - C
150+ - D
120+ - E
90+ - F
60+ - G
59- - U

I am on C grade overall atm. Quite depressing, as I like science and did really well throughout mocks. Hopefully, UNIT 3 will be up to scratch :D

What's annoying to me is I got a D in this proper test and I listened in class, and in the unit we're doing atm it's boring chemistry so I don't listen at all and in the mock test thing we did I got a B...

Sammeth.

Eurgh. Im doing the Chemistry Project atm. Making NaCl from HCl and NaOH. Then having to work out costs etc etc. Too lush for words.

:o We didnt get the grade bondaries back so i was making an educated guess... I just checked got 89 92 95 So quite pleased.. Plus it doesnt matter that i got an A tbh i just need to get one extra mark in one of 2 of the other modules ;)

You get your mark amount and your grade, you don't need to know the marking boundaries so obivously you lied to make yourself look good.

Sam = PWNT! lmao.

But piddle, we are talking about Applied Science and those look like Modular Science module tests. Correct me if I'm wrong :P

What level is this science at?

Sammeth.
14-03-2007, 06:47 PM
Year 11 GCSE.

Papershop
14-03-2007, 06:48 PM
but judging from that, carl is in year 10

Sammeth.
14-03-2007, 06:50 PM
Either he has done his GCSE a year early or he does Modular Science.

14-03-2007, 06:52 PM
Yes this is the "new" course and yes im in year 10 and yes it is modular :) I did mine in january so i just assumed they were the same :) Sorry for the confusion :D

Well done ;D

Ah, my teacher was telling me that we were the last ones to do Applied/Modular as it was, and new courses were going to be put out. Sounds harder tbh :P

piddle2k6
14-03-2007, 07:16 PM
LOL :D No its just the first of 3 tests so is 25% as we also have a practical.. So yes im very pleased :D

Tristan
14-03-2007, 08:53 PM
Well done ;D

Applied is the 2 grade science over year 10 & 11 yeah? So modular is the single grade?

CrabRacket, nice. 1 more mark than me. :P

My course is modular too but at different dates, november we did modules, monday we did modules, june we have modules and I have done my coursework ISA project.
So far I have my results from november modules
Biology 1A 45/50 A*
Chemistry 1A 40/50 A
ISA Coursework 28/35 A

a girl in my group scored a perfect 50 in Biology :P

and to the person above the courses are double grade, you do core science in year 10 for one grade and additional science in year 11 for another grade.

Sammeth.

In my school both Applied and Modular were double award. Modular just meant more tests, less coursework and Applied was more coursework, less tests.

Tristan
14-03-2007, 09:24 PM
Oh. :P
I think I'm doing Applied, yeah?

Sammeth.
14-03-2007, 09:36 PM
Yeah you are bbz <3 :P

Tristan
16-03-2007, 05:27 PM
Haha, thought so. :P
I'm only going to get a C. :blue_doub
180 = C.
210 = B.

I got 81, so if i get 81 in my next exam, I will have 162... My next 21.5% of my first grade will be given on our last Science in the News exam next Wednesday. :( Not looking good...
My two grades for the ones before turn out to make: FU. Lol.
My other 11.5% of my first grade isn't looking too good either. CAN DO tasks.
At the last check I had 3 3pt CAN DO's with only 3 more available. :blue_doub So if I get the 3 last 3pters, I will have 6 3pters and 2 2pters. :blue_doub

I'm going to scrape the C... And that is hopefully...

I got 39. B, 1 mark off an A...

Tristan
24-03-2007, 07:33 PM
oo, close. :P
What education board is your School under for Science?

Also, I did good in my Science in the News last Wednesday I think. :D

Arrg ' science in the news'
ive done 'London Congestion Charge' and ' Does the uk need nuclear power stations?'

I hate them they so boring and dull.
I think i done ok in LCC one but not in the nuclear power one - coz i forgot all my research on day we wrote up :( :eusa_wall

Tristan

First one - Chlemidia in food. (Spelt wrong I know, LOL).
Second - Forgotten, didn't take either as I was ill.
Third - Should Whale Hunting be banned?

Think I did good on my third one (last one). :)
