I know next to nothing about cars. However, I'm about to buy one, so clearly I could do with some help ^^

For anyone who's had experience with being a new driver or whatever, do you know any cars that are cheap to buy, cheap to run and fairly reliable? And preferably not too ugly haha.

I have about £350, maybe £400 to spend on one (not inc. insurance)

they have to be kind of old though but they r the cheapest cars i could think of :):):)

yh i saw cheap cars on ebay when i was bored, just searching cars lol.

for your first car, i think you should go into a car dealers and just ask what kind of cars they have which are very cheap as its only your first car. or instead of that, check their websites to save you going instore. & before you buy the car or anything like check its insurance group.

I wonder if ebay actually is good though, lol. I agree I've seem some good prices and stuff - but half of them are probably stolen or something lmao.

Have thought of eBay, but I've heard of people getting like robbed at gunpoint after going to see cars they're interested in/have bought :S which isn't my cup of tea. Friday ad maybe ^^

fiat puntos would be fairly cheap to buy and run i imagine. my sister got her first car last year, that was a renault clio and that was fairly cheap (can't remember how much now though..) and the insurance etc was cheap.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk - might be worth a look on there.

eBay motors is actually really good for cheap cars, i'd def. recommend getting it off there, i'm getting my car off there.

I'd go for a ford ka myself, although I can't imagine a guy driving one..
