Croatia striker Eduardo da Silva set to join Arsenal

Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed with Dinamo Zagreb for the transfer of striker Eduardo Da Silva on a four year contract for an undisclosed fee, subject to a medical.
Da Silva (24), was born in Brazil but moved to Croatia at the age of 15 and took Croatian nationality in 2002. The striker scored the first competitive goal at Emirates Stadium when Arsenal beat Dinamo Zagreb 5-1 on aggregate in last season’s UEFA Champions League Third Qualifying Round.
Eduardo has made 12 appearances for the Croatian national team scoring seven goals, including one of his country’s goals in their 2-0 Euro 2008 Qualifier victory over England in October 2006.
Further details will follow on Arsenal.com.

Very poor choice.

They've spent too much on him.

Waste of money.

Very poor choice.

£16.25m on him...

Waste of money.

as i said in the darren bent thread
you dont know that its a waste of money, he may go onto score 20-30 goals next season, its wrong to judge a player before hes even started, and its 7.5 million..

I changed it because I mis-read the Arsenal website :P

He will be, just like Adebayor - waste of space.

yes but is adebayor a waste of space:rolleyes:
hes scored some key goals this season and hes been under a lot of pressure to supply the goals as henry was injured throughout most of the season.. i think hes done a great job for them..

it is a lot of money and unfortunately everyone will probably expect him to work the magic like henry did, but i think he'll do well.

i dont think 7.5mil is a lot of money though
for a player of his standards
34 goals last season which is a record..

£7.5m is a lot when you only sell Henry for £16 when you could've got £30m or something for him.

vP will do well this year and we have Reyes back as well don't forget.

Thats in a poor league though, much like when Kezman joined chelsea having scored a record amount of goals.

Although im not going to judge him just yet, we will just wait and see him play :D
