To be honest with you. The world at the moment in time doesn't need a double decker plane. The 787 is the right size, shape and can fly the same distance as the A380 on two engines which is more environmentally friendly :) Oh by the way the A380, double decker plane was first Boeings/McDonald Douglas which Boeing bought then they scrapped the idea. No wonder Airbus copies straights away :P
