I'm predicted an A in gcse english but im in set 2.

What an injustice.

That is rather stupid tbh.

Same things are happening at my school.
People are in the wrong sets, its obvious.
Its probably happening all across Britain.

LOL. ^^

How typical of England.

Same for me, accept not only did the school get the sets wrong they also got the bands wrong.. so some people from C band were in A band e.t.c

it is usualy because the ppl whith low grades misbehave whith other ppl who do not care in lower sets and they think that if they were away from them they woulkd do better

All sets are mixed in my year.
It's stupid it can corrupt learning.

I'm pretty sure sets/bands are based on your work ethic as opposed to your potential. It sounds messed up but I guess you could be real smart but if all you do is mess around then there's no point.

Some subjects have began to have reward schemes where students who are doing poorly get placed in higher sets as a means of inspiring them to do better, and those doing great are expected not to need the inspiration because they already feel they need to do their best, I also add that this scheme is rubbish and is grossly ineffective :S

i'm set 2 for science and predicted a b, yet there's people in set 1 predicted like c's and d's
they just base everything on sats, and it's pathetic.
