Not every one wastes it on ****! I do get ema because my mum doesn't earn much money. I use the money to buy food. I also use the money on the weekend for going out.

Yes I get it. It just goes on top of my wages though, so I could technically be spending it on anything. You could say that I spend it on my monthly bus pass and then school stuff etc.

EMA is a joke.

Think about it, your only eligable to earn thirty quid a week if your..
. A single Child
. Deceased/Divorced parent(s)
. Earn less than 30k a year (Including tax benefits)

Thats a very very small percentage of the population. - But still yet they advertise it like a large percentage of the people aged 16-18 can recieve it. Even if you are still eligable for it and your parent(s) earn under 30k a year, you will only recieve a smaller amount of money. The only way to earn the full 30 is by having parent(s) that are unemployed and cannot find work due to illness/other related problems, which basically means "If your parents are on the dole, you earn an extra thirty quid a week for staying on in further education".

And no i'm not eligble for it, nor would I claim if was eligable for EMA as it's a waste of the taxpayers money.

I don't get it, and I wouldn't really care if I got it, although a few friends in school have been saying about everyone should get it and all this, and I just think, if you want it, you should get it

im not a single child me and my sister get 30 quid a week
my mum is full time employment and so is dad, but divorced
its not a waste, my mum struggles and i help her out with it.

I can't believe someone old enough to recieve EMA would say something so idiotic.

I know plenty of people who wouldn't be able to go to sixth-form without the £30 a week they get.
When you've got to pay board, contribute towards all your schooling equipment, and help support other members of your family, the extra cash is extremely worthwhile.

I'm lucky enough not to need it, but I really don't like the way some can get the money because one of thier parents owns thier own business etc..
