I don't think so tbh, they say it'll stop conjestion but when someone brake's down on any lane they have to close the lane down witch will propably cause more conjestion

I was watching polatic's weekly this morning and they say if someone brake's down they will close the whole lane they are in.

The hard shoulder is their for a reason.
If it was meant to be a lane then it would have been a long time ago, anyway they need to hard shoulder so that people dont get too close to the things next to the road and crash.

I thought something like this thread would be common sence? ALot of places are being widened with a hard shoulder.

Ridiculous idea, as people have said it's there for a reason. If you want more lanes then widen the road completely, this is just an idea to cheaply reduce congestion :S

Nope. It will cause major congestion during accidents, and most road shoulders are narrow, which will cause more accidents.
