But really, why else would he leave a cushy job like that? He has to have been given an offer from somewhere.

Is he bonkers? Scotland national coach sounds so much better than Birmingham manager. (No offence Tom ;))
I reckon that could be a step into the past now for Scotland.. (Not saying that optimistically, because I want them to do well in the WC group stages).

Think about it, Scotland are never gonig to win the world cup euro or anything in the next 20 off years. But a league football team anything is possible. Im not sure when Scotlands next game is but i dont think Englands is till October 2008. I think a manager would much rather be on 3 times the money and play everysingle week than play once in a blue moon and win nothing. Btw im not saying blues will win anything (because we wont hence the song *100 years.. and you've won **** all*) But if we finish 9 in the premiership one of the seasons it will be a better job that anyone else has done for us. But...
i think he will do crap here :P

Bad idea. He was beginning to achieve big things with Scotland. That ain't gonna happen with Birmingham.

And you would have said that about Man City 1/2 seasons ago?
