We can officially confirm that Chris Gunter is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential move in January.
We had received a number of offers from Tottenham concerning Chris. When the figure reached our valuation of the player on Thursday night we then spoke to Chris to inform him of their interest. Chris then agreed to meet with Tottenham with a view to a permanent move to the London Club.

Aww looks like Spurs, Everton, Pompey etc can't produce home grown talent of there own. You see here at City we don't need to worry about that... Richards, Johnson, Ireland, Sturrige, Miller, Onouha, logan. I believe it's not a total of 28 players to come from our academy so far have gone on to be professionals in about three years or something. And theres more exciting talent yet to come. Can't wait till Sturrige plays this season!

Better question, is he a decent English left back?

He's a Welsh right-back who can use his left foot, thats all I know.

And we have produced many players in the future, but does that have anything to do with us buying someone to play in the first team?

Aha. Just my subject. He is a very talented full-back who can go up and down that wing and is not afraid to get stuck in. He has only played 8 games for Cardiff and 3 for Wales. He certainly has a great future ahead of him.

He looks set to sign, i read this morning's Daily Mail and it said he's set to sign for £4m in the january transfer window, but surely he wont take Gareth Bale's place?

He's a right back, but I can't see him taking Chimonda's place either.

Yeah, w.e :)
Chimbonda is doing really well, so he shouldnt be replaced
He'll probs be one for the future

I suppose, but if he's had a medical it's about 90% certain he's joining Spurs.

Yeah, but ive seen many other medicals be screwed up in a matter of hours :)

I would of thought spurs would stick there nose in to get him.

I expect if they sign him he won't get into first team, they'll keep coaching him to a high standard & play him in reserves. They've done it with a few English youngsters they've bought off of Championship clubs.

According to two of the Welsh papers, the fee is only £2m.

Alan_Carr
23-12-2007, 12:38 PM
It'll probs be 2m, then rise to such and such depending on appearances etc

The fee was supposed to be £3m rising to £4m.

£2m is not bad for a promising player, the yids have spent that much on other young promising British players. don't forget jerome didn't exactly go for much either, with how promising he is. so much strength, powerful shots & good technique when he was drafted into the bluebirds team. he did well & looked promising, but in my opinion a small fee was paid for him with how young & promising he is. he's doing well in the premiership & so is chopra.
