unlucky :( Good luck though! Just concentrate ;).you say that but you dont know how hard it is to get everything just right, especially when you are under pressure

e5
14-01-2008, 01:52 PM
Yeah I know I don't say it from experience but my cousin is learning to drive and she finds its fairly easy. I think maybe you shouldn't feel as much under pressure!

jesus
14-01-2008, 01:57 PM
learning is the easy part ;)

Whats the difference between the test and learning? In the test isn't all you do is put what you learnt to the test? :S

jesus
14-01-2008, 02:00 PM
yeah, but if you get just one thing wrong (for example not looking in a mirror just once) then its an auto-fail. you are allowed minors but something like that you would get failed on, thats why its so hard.

e5
14-01-2008, 02:15 PM
oh dear, do they check that much? :O
Then again somethings you do with thinking. like looking in mirrors and indicating.

jesus
14-01-2008, 02:24 PM
course they do :S just wait til you start learning to drive you'll see what i mean.

L!nK..
14-01-2008, 02:36 PM
When people are on a test, they kind of panic, and while you're learning to drive, you can panic and do a mistake, but not on both.

No you don't.

Failing to look in a mirror is a minor - an auto-fail si like if you go up the kerb or something, or forget to signal somewhere important like a roundabout.

Think of your first as an experiment, you've had the experience of the pressure placed on you to pass first time.

I failed mine first time and like you was annoyed at myself and upset at the same time, 5 minors and then a really stupid major :$ and I was kicking myself as I knew I had done it, then rebooked and took it again 4 weeks later, only 3 minors and a pass :)

Learn from your mistake and good luck next time :)

I failed mine 3 times, before I passed. Don't worry about it! I used to get around 6 minors then 2 serious faults. It's all about keeping your nerve and concentrating! You'll get there.

Im dreading learning to drive. I'm such a clumsy person, so I don't know how I will cope in a car.

It's your first time .. I wouldn't worry too much about it, I was the same, I got 2 serious & 4 minor faults on my first test, and I had the most senior examiner at the place.

Second time around, 2 weeks later, I got 2 minors and passed.

You will pass next time :P Don't let it get you down! - The majority of people pass 2nd or 3rd time.

dont worry there is always next time. its very easy to fail and extremely hard to pass sometimes. It all depends on your road experience and how long you have been practising for.

It took me 6 months to learn to drive, and i passed first time with 4 minors - lucky i thought. Just because you have fail doesnt mean all ends now, it is just a learning curve that you will know no for the future. good luck.

On my driving test I took my moms yukon, which was the biggest mistake ever! at the end of the test you have to back into a parking spot next to the building, it was so hard!

You don't have to but it's probably better unless you've done a lot of driving in your own car. I've hardly been in mine because there isn't a lot of time when myself and my mum are both in, so I'll be doing mine in my instructor's car. Got my test booked for 15th May having failed the first time - got 13 minors and no majors which apparently can be a pass mark but he thought I was too chavvy so failed me lol

It's harder when you have an examiner next to you, and are testing on how well you can do maneuvers etc. You are under a lot of pressure, plus, because you want it so much you are bound to be nervous :)

I passed my 2nd attempt with 2 minors, most of my mates, and people I've spoken to passed on their 2nd attempt, its much easier when you know what their like, mock tests dont really help either :P

Never get driven by a person who just passed as they haven't got hang of it yet.
My friend was driving on the motoway in herfordshire and he was talking to the next car at same time, but yeah his an ok driver now.
But congratulations anyway.
