I have a yamaha 250. It's old-school but it's so rad. Only cost around 500 AUD
:)
I wanted one for xmas, as well as my big pink malibu- it's great.

Well, my Yamaha 250 is totally road worthy. I suggest going for something a little more powerful than a 125- depending on how much land you have and where you're planning to ride it (if on road, defs consider it).
I say go for a nice second-hand'er. I looked on bikepoint.com.au (maybe not .au) for my bike, but that's AU based only. So I suggest you google for a similar site wherever you live and take a look around in your price range.

Again, depends what you need it for. Have you ridden many bikes before?

Oh yeah, of course. It's not rocket science. The 125 rule is a bit disappointing, but I suggest you go for something cheap to start out. Do it up later maybe. It's up to you though, if you've got the money handy then go for it but choose wisely. I've, honestly, never heard of a 'pulse' but it looks nice and pretty suitable.

Yeah.. I did too at first. Dad suggested just go for a manual because he knew I just didn't feel confident. But, now I realise just how easy it is. So, if difficulty/confidence is your issue, don't worry about it. You probably have some other perfectly good reason and i'm just a whimp haha
:)

And, yes, could you please stop spamming every thread? Sorry, but it's slightly annoying. Try be a little more constructive.

Haha. Yeah, I felt the same. But, seriously, it's really not hard. Easier than driving a car by a good ol' country mile.

I woulnt know where to start with clutch :(

Daphne,
17-03-2008, 12:08 PM
Yeah, you wouldn't but it'd only take you 5 minutes and then you would.
Seriously, google the manuals and look at how they work, it's just clutch with hand, gear with foot. *Pull - - Click*
:D

GoldenMerc

its a dirt bike so it would all be by the fingers like semi is right?

Daphne,
17-03-2008, 12:12 PM
Oh okay. Yeah, mine's not a dirt bike... so i've sort of gotten into the habit.
Either way, a young fellow like you'd do just fine.
What I'm trying to say, basically, get what you need but dont let "difficulty" stand in the way when it comes to manuals. Because, it's really not so hard
:D

RareFart

The clutch on a manual is just the same as it works on a car. Pull in, change gear, let go. :)

Nixt

You just know. Sound of the engine, speed your going. It eventually becomes second nature. It's not hard, after an hour on the bike you'll have it.
