Hey,

I'm interested in BeThere/o2 Broadband, but wondering what kind of speeds I'd get with the 16mb package,

You are around 2.56 kilometres from your exchange (as the crow flies).

Is the exchange distance, any ideas?
Thanks

If you can get a cable service, then distance doesnt affect speed

Indeed. That's why I hardly ever see VM cable customers complaining.

I was on VM but they've disconnected me as a customer, and customer services say the reason is on their computer as 'disconnect customer', so I'm no longer with them :|

I'm with VM and for the majority of the time my internet is down.

Thats probably because chavs have vandalised the cable box on your road most likely. I doubt they'd have bad service when they have a 5 star rating from ingear.

Yeah, you may aswell go with a standard ADSL service at that distance or just go with an 8Mbps backage from Be/o2.

I only go by user ratings, not by 1 person who is a TV show or something :P

Don't expect 16mb speeds, very very very very very (as in about 10%) of the servers in the world won't allow you download over 700kbp/s lol

Steer away from virgin's ADSL service as it's meant to be absolutely crap lol

I have the 8mbps one of that and I'm currently getting approx 5mbps at peak times :D Very happy with it.

Yeah I know but the 16meg is very cheap, and may as well just go for the 16 instead of 8 just incase it feels like being faster, I dunno. Thanks all anyway

Waste of money ;)

Also, yes ADSL with VM are supposed to be extremely rubbish.

I'm on Virgin Media and since getting the broadband connected through a modem and then into a router, its always been up and had no problems what so ever!

Just got off the phone with them, after being put on hold for 45 minutes, on hold 5 different times and transferred to 7 different depts. and told to call 3 different numbers they told me I've been put on "full disconnect" and deleted from their system. until my payment to them clears in 10 days.

So looks like I'ma be back to Virgin, thanks anyway all.
