The BMW's seem to be off the pace this week unlike previous weeks, once again Hamilton is top (and by some margin on practice 2)I didn't get a chance to watch the Friday practice on-line but I believe it was dry, shame it will not be another wet race... those are always the best :P

There was speculation that he was moving to either red bull or honda. However in the past few days Honda have confirmed that they are keeping both their drivers next season and Vettel has been confirmed to take DC's place so it looks like Alonso is staying put.

It'll be interesting to see how Hiedfeld does tomorrow, Webber as well being back that far. Kudos to Trulli and Vettel - I wonder where he'll go next season as he's been impressive.

Heikki Kovalainen has been fined 5,000 euros for a breach of the refuelling regulations during German Grand Prix qualifying.

The stewards ruled that McLaren did not follow the proper procedure when it refuelled Kovalainen’s car during Q2, breaching Article 29.2 of the sporting regulations.

“Car 23 was refuelled during Q2 using equipment that was not an FIA-approved race refuelling system, and therefore the engine should have been stopped during the refuelling process,” the stewards said in a statement.

The penalty is purely financial and Kovalainen’s third place on the grid is not affected.
