Somebody suggested it, so I thought what the hell. Post updates on the medal table standings here whenever you like. here are the current overall standings.

These are the top 10 if you added all the medals up for each country:

[1] USA - 3 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze - 11 MEDALS
[2] China - 6 gold, 3 silver, 0 bronze - 9 MEDALS
[3] South Korea - 3 gold, 2 silver, 0 bronze - 5 MEDALS
[4] Australia - 2 gold, 0 silver, 3 bronze - 5 MEDALS
[5] France - 0 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze - 5 MEDALS
[6] Japan - 2 gold, 0 silver, 2 bronze - 4 MEDALS
[7] Italy - 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze - 4 MEDALS
[8] Russia - 0 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze - 4 MEDALS
[9] Great Britain - 2 gold, 0 silver, 1 bronze - 3 MEDALS
