The last of the action in Beijing has just been wrapped up with France beating Iceland to the gold medal in Men's Handball.

Great Britain had it's best games since 1908, and China topped the medal table for the first time.

Even if we did lose third place to the Russians, it's a pretty good result to build on for London 2012, where we'll be sending a Team GB to our first home Olympics in 64 years that's almost twice as large as the one we sent to Beijing.

The closing ceremony, including a short segment from London and the handing of the Olympic flag from the mayor of Beijing to the mayor of London, will air on BBC One at 12.00pm.

Dont forget that the closing also includes Leona Lewis singing :D!! (I love her). We did amazingly well here, and qualifying for every event next year automatically can only be good :D

I think our athletes have done us proud. What many seem to forget is that we sent just over 300 odd athletes to Beijing compared to some other countries which had over 600 competitors. Coming 4th is quite a big achievement :)
