It has recently come to my attention that some members have decided to start picking on other members because other people do it, or simply because they don't like them. To those who have adopted this method of practise, I would like to highlight this rule:

A3. Do not bully other forum members - We will not tolerate any form of bullying on Habbox. This includes name calling and threats both on threads, reputation comments and via PM. We have the ability and the right to read any personal message sent on the forum but we will do this with care. By using our Personal Messaging system you give us the right to check your personal messages if we feel it's necessary. Depending on how serious we think the matter is we may report it to the relevant authorities.

Please note the sentence "We will not tolerate any form of bullying on habbox." With immediate effect, there will be a crackdown on the amount of bullying that appears to be happening. Providing you have no previous punishments for the offence, your first offending post will earn you an immediate bullying infraction. If you are seen to do it again after the infraction, you will be cautioned for 7 days. A third offence will earn you a permanent ban. Of course, if you have previous warnings or temp bans for bullying, you will be subject for a perm ban for a repeat offence since you have been adequately warned in the past.

On a different tack, the amount of threads that appear to be turning into arguments also appears to be on the increase, especially in the Games forum. Threads that turn into arguments often do so as the result of one or more troll posts. As with bullying, we are going to be cracking down on trolling with immediate effect. The habbox definition of trolling (taken directly from the moderation guide) is as follows:

Posts that aren't necessarily insulting or accusatory, but are unnecessarily negative, do not contribute to the thread and designed to bait a user into an emotional response.

Any posts that appear to fit that category will be removed and a warning given. Should you receive two infractions for trolling a 7 day caution will be awarded, followed by a 7 day temp ban for another repeat offence.

If you see any posts that are bullying or trolling, please report them using the post report button and a super moderator will deal with it accordingly. Moderators will also be keeping an extra close eye on forums to make sure any instances of these posts are removed.

Of course, none of this should apply to the majority of users :)

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
Alex

Visibility bump as a reminder, several missed it the first time round.

To add, the "Trolling" infraction is now called "Posting to Cause Arguments" for clarity but still covers the same set of rules listed above.
