Pyroka

NOOOOO WAYYYYYYYYY.

2205: Spanish newspaper AS are saying Manchester City have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for Brazilian forward Robinho - for about £34m. Are they about to steal the step-over king from under the noses of Chelsea? Er, maybe, yeah.

NOOOO WAYYYYYY!!!!!

Geraint
01-09-2008, 09:08 PM
Agreed a fee. Personal terms are yet to come. He'll probably say no. Chelsea or Man City, I know who'd I choose.

As someone has already said, the fee has been agreed but doesn't mean personal terms will be agreed. I think Robinho would rather move to Chelsea than Manchester City.

He made it quite clear where he wants to go.

Geraint

He made it quite clear where he wants to go.

Exactly. Chelsea will offer him lots of money aswell. Man City may offer about 10k extra.

Robinho will get around £6million per year, according to SSN

I'd still want Champions League football this year and with a team that have already proven their class.

Pyroka
01-09-2008, 09:20 PM
Well he has to ask himself then, does he want to go into a team which he can take credit for its rise, or does he want a team where he's just another face?

I'd go for Man city if I were him, Chelsea sound attractive but Man City has shedloads of potential.

Who are you and what have you done with Ryan?

Pyroka
01-09-2008, 09:24 PM
LOL. I'm all for Man City standing up in the face of Man Utd, so I'm pretty much loving Man City today. They've done things which I could only imagine with Everton. xD

He's world class. He'll get into the Chelsea team. Man City have lots of money but that means **** all if you don't buy the right players. You could have the best 11 players in the world but who's to say they'll play way together. Man City's team at the beginning of last season played well together and who'd heard of half of them?

Pyroka
01-09-2008, 09:30 PM
Thats true that, and I considered that too. It's just that with SWP, Petrov and star players like that, I think Robinho would fit in well... But he would with Chelsea too. It's all his choice in the end.

iMegz.

On Radio NOW! Some journalist on Radio Five Live, Robinho agreed immediatly when Real Madrid asked him if he would go to Manchester City. Real Madrid are more happier with him going to Manchester City because they are not as big as Chelsea (yet), but Robinho accepted immediatly, which showed how much Robinho wants to leave Chelsea. Also shirts are being prepared with the name Robinho on the back, which means he will be saying a warm welcome to the Chelsea fans on his debut, but on the sky blue shirt!!! xD

2308: Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon on Spanish television station VEO: "We have agreed to sell the player for human reasons, for footballing reasons and for an important quantity of money." So, Robinho seems certain to be on his way to Manchester City. Crikey.

Loqo
01-09-2008, 10:29 PM
Man City are going to be happy this season and definitely next. Am I right in saying I heard Sky Sports say earlier that Man City's plan is that in this season finish in the top 4, next season to win the Premiership and the season after to win The Champions League?

http://www.mcfc.co.uk/pix/1.gifhttp://www.mcfc.co.uk/pix/1.gifManchester City have made a dramatic late deadline-day swoop for Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Robinho. The deal to bring the 24-year-old was completed shortly before the midnight cut-off point, and he has signed a four-year contract.
Robinho, full name Robson de Souza, scored 25 goals in just over 100 games at the Bernabeu, during which time he won two La Liga winner’s medals. He moved to Spain after his attacking talents caught the eye in his home country when with Santos. He has also scored 11 times in 42 caps for Brazil.
He becomes City’s fourth Brazilian player, joining Elano, Jo and Glauber Berti.
Manager Mark Hughes exclusively told mcfc.co.uk, “I am absolutely delighted to get the opportunity to work with such an incredible talent like Robinho. I have said that in order to compete with the best teams in the Premier League we have to be in the market for players of this calibre, and Robinho is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world.
“I am really looking forward to introducing him to the rest of the squad, and to the City fans at the earliest opportunity. This is a real statement of intent as to the ambitions of Manchester City Football Club.”

As a Chelsea supporter, I'm actually quite satisfied that Manchester City have signed him and not us. We don't need another one of these world class talents, our midfield is already packed with them, we don't need another clogging the midfield up even further. He's inconsistent, leightweight and at £34 Million the transfer risk is incrediably high. Our formation doesn't suit him either, and he's the sort of player who requires the ball a lot, something he wouln't have here.

Don't get me wrong, he's a talented player and although I was livid 2 hours ago, i'm content now.

Robinho will be dissapointed not to sign for his first choice club in Chelsea, and to be honest bad luck to him at City.

Hello TopRed, if I'm not mistaken? (sorry if I am mistaken) But I guess this could be your new account? Good isn't it how City have made United pull another few odd million out of there pockets and thrown in a player on loan to Spurs because City have interfered with your transfer. xD

Hope the F.A deduct a large amount of points for meeting a player without the other teams permission, hope its every million you spent on him = 1 points. So that would be 31? If you round up the .75 xD Might be fighting relegation at this rate.

We'll soon have to see what the F.A have to do about this.

The problem for Chelsea is that you believe you can sign world class players for the first team squad and the bench, which is just wrong...

Last season your bench was worth £61m of what you paid for players on there. That means an average of £10m per players. I can't imagine what the value might be now that you can have seven players on the bench.

Lmao at this mug.

im wondering, when chelsea were bought out by the russian, we, as well as the rest of the footballing world, called the bunch of sellouts, your blue selves, us, and the scouse *******s down the road, critisized them for "selling there soul", "buying sucess", and generally acting like someone had put an infinate cash cheat into football manager, and gone shopping like a dog with two *****.

i'm just wondering how you lot feel about your new found wealth? your probably gonna say something like "its completely different to the chelsea situation", its not, you are forever reminding us reds that you are "the peoples club", the salt of the earth, true mancs club, how do you think this takeover will affect your fanbase? compare chelsea's support 10-15 years ago, to it now, what a bunch of plastic mongs they are.

i understand that united have spent plenty of cash over the past few years, but that was our money, we earned it, it wasnt given to us by some sugar daddy, as much as i hate the scouse, they built an empire in the right away, as did we. this is just the quick route isnt it? dont you feel a bit grubby?

fair play to you's for bringing in robinho, and with the cash you lot are supposed to have, you could well soon be challengers, maybe even end that 32 years we love to remind you about, but i cant help feel you've lost something here.

i expect a load of bitter abuse, but i think thius is a reasonably fair post, with some serious questions in it.

Oh and by the way, i realise my username is a postcode in london, but if you think im a cockney your sadly mistaken.

I said I was dissapointed we've missed out on Robinho, but i'm not going to dwell on it. It's not the end of the world, and there are many positives of him not signing here. If this is the reaction around him not signing, if he signed it'd be far bigger and the ego he would bring would be massive and the expectation levels would be far too high. And how did I rip into Robinho? Learn to read eh? And just for the record, it's the international break, so no games will be played. And i'm not worried about Manchester City come the 13th.

Oh My God ....

LOL and Citys next game is Chelsea. Debut hero perhaps ? :P
Why would we be gutted? We could have got him, however we aren't going to be pushed spending £32.5million on a player whose not really worth anything more than £25m. Kenyon should be praised for not complying with Madrid's demands. Horrible club, and I hope we don't do buisness with them in the forthcoming future.

Well this guy has said that in the next transfer window he wants to bring in 18 players.

I guess city fans will soon be waving bye to their first team.

Shame really.

Seems like it won't be Hughes buying any players, just him. There's going to be a lot of pressure on manchester city this season. They've spent arond 140m in the last two transfer windows, and with that amount spent you would really have to say they need a top 4 finish to actually show something for their spending. A manager being "shocked" and "surprised" at a transfer bid is worrying.
