Depends on where you live, how old you are and engine size. Those will be the biggest effecting factors. For me it would be around £1500 per year for a 1.2 Corsa as a named driver fully comp.

how's everyone's insurance so high? I'm 17, fully comp as a named driver on a 1.9 golf with no pass plus, lol.

You mean a Corsa? Their okay for first cars, good on insurance, but I have heard they seem intimidating for first time drivers as they appear larger then what they seem behind the wheel. Not the ugliest of first car choices neither, I think they look pretty sweet.

if you're a named driver it means your on someone elses policy? e.g parents, which is why it's probably cheaper mateee

Named driver is where you're listed as a driver on your parent's insurance, but you're just an occasional driver sort of thing.

3rd party insurance is where if you have an accident and it's your fault only the person who you hit is insured. Then there's 3rd party fire & theft which is the same as 3rd party but covers you if it gets stolen or gets set on fire. Fully comp is the best but most expensive as it covers everything. You could be a named driver or the policy holder on and insurance type.
