Based on feedback we've recieved from manymanymany members the Habbox News Bot now creates threads in a subforum of Habbo UK News called "Habbox Habbo UK News". Only the Bot will create threads here, allowing users to discuss the news reports straight off Habbox.

Posts made in this subforum by the bot will not count towards news being "already posted" - this means it will not be closed if the news was already posted nor will another thread be closed because this is posted. The two forums exist seperately so that those who wish to skip the Habbox News can and those who want convenient viewing or good discussion have it available to them.

We have now added fields for Habbo US, CA, AU, SG, and intl names to your profile. You have one free field where you can fill in the Hotel as well [ the (__) field ] however we have only provided one as the majority will not even use that many but very few will use more than one of the non-English speaking hotels.

Shortly these fields should display in the International News Forum.

Thanks to Verrou for this suggestion!

We now allow posting pictures of yourself directly on the forum, so long as the image is hosted externally. However for the moment it is still not allowed to post images of yourself in your avatar or signature, and the rules have been updated to reflect that. We will be gauging how this new privilege is used and we may then allow external images within signatures, or we may not.

Enjoy!

The ClubTropica prefix has been removed from Online Games due to lack of use. Of course members can tag CT threads themselves. Thanks to Kardan for bringing this to our attention!

In a more obscure note the prefixes were removed from the Habbo UK News Forum as they are no longer needed for the bot!

We would like to remind all users that "foreign languages" do include binary and similar languages, except when necessary to provide a code. This means that swearing or insulting in Binary or other languages is not allowed. Using code to transmit messages is also not appropriate (obviously coding to create programs or scripts in the Web Design forum is allowed.)

The Ask the Habbo Staff Forums are now an archive of sorts and will only be reopened when Habbo Staff make infrequent visits to answer questions, which we will let you know about via an announcement ahead of time! :)

Thanks to Arch for reminding us of this!

Last week we were considering moving on suggestions by the user Soil to make Infractions and Reputations dealt with privately. After an internal survey we have decided that to create the issue thread in a private forum or via the support system would make the appeals substantially more time-consuming to deal with. Therefore, we have implemented different fixes that will hopefully be effective.

If you do not wish your infraction to be public knowledge, we do have an option on the Support System for infraction appeals, however we do encourage users to use the public thread to get a quicker response and ease the workflow. Please note that you may only use one system per infraction, users who are caught getting their appeal turned down in the thread then moving to the Support System or vice versa in a second attempt to get the infraction reversed will be dealt with. You will be given a fair review using either method, the difference is only who sees it.

As far as reputation, since by the Reputation Thread rules you should not be posting specific reputation, only the person who -repped you will know. We now do not allow -repping pots on the Report Reputation Thread. Those who do will have the rep removed as well as 10 points, or more if we see fit, removed from their own reputation.

Hopefully this will remedy any issues!

This management decision in an early round of forum updates has sparked much discussion from members. We have decided that we will be recreating some "Post Your" threads, but administrators will create them so as to control the flow, you may request a "Post Your" thread by PMing myself or Professor-Alex. Since the broadness of topics varies across the forum, we cannot set a definite criteria, so we will simply use common sense.

When backing up your position when PMing us, its best to take the position of explaining how it can be constructive to other users, and/or how it fosters discussion. If there it much (non spam) discussion and a lot of people refer back to information posted there, it has a much higher chance of being recreated.

We will also consider reopening certain threads and just not stickying them.

Thanks!

There has been much discussion about whether post counts should rise in forum games. After a discussion management has decided that we are in favor of removing post counts in Forum Games. However, since it is the users who determined this was an issue, we felt that it should be left to the users to ultimately decide if they wanted to let post counts rise in that forum or not, because what it does ultimately effects the members, and member privileges.

Therefore, you may vote on the poll located at the top of the forum or reply in the Feedback thread with your opinion.

PLEASE NOTE that current posts in the Games Forum will be archived seperately. Up to the point where we remove post count, the post counts will still count. This is because in the past General Management has stated that post counts will remain and we prefer not to renege on previous promises, if possible.

That rounds out this week's updates, enjoy!
