Thought I'd make a thread, even though it's a bit early.
A few deals already confirmed including Lassana Diarra going from Portsmouth to Real Madrid for around 20 million.
Any rumours including your team in the transfer window?

Why would they sign for an average club like Sunderland?

Ireland has been City's best player this season.. there is no chance they would sell him and I doubt he would want to make a move to a worse club.

Same with Defoe..

Players In to Arsenal (Transer speculation)
Tevez
Inler
Arshavin (Again)
Alonso (Xabi)
Guiza

Players Out:
Toure (City)
Fabregas (Barca/Real)
Van Persie (I THINK it was Bayern)
Simpson (Baggies)
More Loaners

It was funny at Liverpool Vs Arsenal, they all cheered Alonso but booed everyone else when the names were being called out.

i would like to see Alonso take Denilsons role and Guiza or Tevez take Adebayors

TO ABOVE:
BARRY to Liverpool is still "in the mix" i havent heard much but all they need is a few defenders.

He got 6 league goals last season, but thats because he was mostly put out on the wing by roy.

17.23 Everton boss David Moyes admits he will be looking to add to his threadbare options in attack in the January transfer window. Who should the Toffees chief be looking at?

16.45 Queens Park Rangers have confirmed the signing of Wayne Routledge (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_4734405,00.html) on a three-and-a-half year deal. The Aston Villa wide man spurned Cardiff to move to Loftus Road.

16.23 Gareth Southgate has again reiterated his desire to keep Stewart Downing (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11680_4734464,00.html) at The Riverside. The Boro boss admits he is aware of interest from Spurs but is adamant his star man will not be sold.

16.11 Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has no intention of selling Jimmy Bullard (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11681_4734367,00.html) or Brede Hangeland (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11681_4734367,00.html) during the January transfer window. He does though concede that every player has his price.

14.22 Arsene Wenger (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_4734390,00.html) has claimed supporters are in "dreamland" if they expect Arsenal to break the bank during the January transfer window.

13.50 Wayne Bridge's (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_4733659,00.html) move to Chelsea is edging ever closer with news Manchester City have now agreed a fee for the player's service.

13.41 Tony Adams admits he is unsure over whether Jermain Defoe (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11674_4734481,00.html) will ever play for Portsmouth again.

13.27 QPR's on-loan defender Michael Mancienne has been recalled by parent club Chelsea due to injury and suspension problems going into their FA Cup clash against Southend.

10.12 QPR have completed a permanent move for Iceland international Heidar Helguson (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_4732643,00.html), with the striker joining on a two-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee after impressing on loan from Bolton.

9.43 Olivier Dacourt (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4732401,00.html) expects to secure a move away from Inter Milan during the January transfer window after falling out of favour with boss Jose Mourinho.

9.14 Brazilian defender Kleber (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4732272,00.html) claims he would jump at the chance to join Manchester City in the winter transfer window.

8.44 Valencia have admitted they would consider parting company with star men David Villa and David Silva (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4732244,00.html) if they were to receive an 'exorbitant' offer.

8.30 It is also reported in the broadsheets that Bayern Munich have told Real Madrid that they must cough up a whopping £55million if they want to sign French star Franck Ribery. It will be interesting to see a measure of ambition at the Bernabeu this month.

8.27 The Times reports that Manchester City have made West Ham a new £8million offer for midfielder Scott Parker and Hammers officials are rumoured to have been considering the bid over night.

8.10 The Daily Mail claims that Chelsea could sell Brazilian defender Alex to AC Milan and use the cash to sign CSKA Moscow's Yuri Zhirkov. The Russia star impressed at Euro 2008 and would make an ideal replacement for Wayne Bridge, who is reported to be on his way to Manchester City.

7.55 Carlos Tevez (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4732172,00.html) has told Manchester United that he wants to stay at Old Trafford and he expect his loan contract to be made permanent within the next week. However, speculation that Real Madrid are set to hijack any deal continues to rumble.

7.41 Reports in Friday's newspapers are linking West Ham defender Lucas Neill with a move to Galatasaray. Yesterday it emerged that the Hammers could be prepared to pay off the Australian's contract to allow him to move for free this month.

7.34 Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce has been linked with a bid for Sunderland's El-Hadji Diouf (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4732011,00.html), who he managed at Bolton. The Ewood Park chief wants to build experience in the battle to beat Premier League relegation.

Those are some of today's transfer stories that I've picked out from SkySports.com. Moyes was at the Blackpool - Wolves game so he might be looking to make a bid for Ebanks-Blake or Iwelumo (which I hope he doesn't), but out of the two I think Iwelumo is more likely to go IF Wolves accept the offer.

OK, this is just a load of transfers I've heard of, so they may not necessarily be true... Sorry that it is mostly about Man City but they do seem to be all over the transfer window.

City are supposedly offering £17m for Santa Cruz, which Santa Cruz is interested in the move.
City are also looking to bid for Toure and Given (£10), who are both unhappy at their clubs.
Spurs and Arsenal are also interested in Given.
Apparently Harry Redknapp made a £30m bid for Defoe, Crouch and Glen Johnson but it was turned down.
Everton are interested in Wolves Ebanks-Blake.
Hull and West Brom are going to make bids for Hamann.
Jo is looking to go back to CSKA Moscow on loan or a permanent deal.
Valencia will look at any offers that are made for David Villa, even though they do not want to sell him, but may need to because of their current financial problems.
Hughes has given up on Upson as he believes West Ham are over-valueing him (£10)
West Ham want a total of £32m for Bellamy, Upson and Parker, with Man City.

Hart is good but if we want to compete for Champions League we need a more experienced goalkeeper as Hart is still young and learning. He needs to catch the ball at the moment instead of just hitting it away... lol.
Getting someone like Given can give him some more experience, thats why we wanted Brad Friedel.

I'm now hearing a rumour that City are offering £50m for David Villa. I can see him going to Chelsea though as he is the striker that Scolari is probably looking for and I don't see how we can attract him to play for us. Only his wages would make him happy enough to join us... lol.

Villa is a strange deal, I'm having a sense of the whole of the Ronald one around it. I am not going to get to excited about it, it's about 45% we could pull it off. We're the only club in for him, if we sign him it'll be more than 50mill, it will be around 65/70. And we're the only club who can afford the 250,000 a week. He needs to come because his club are is in MASSIVE debt.

Oh and if we do sign a keeper it's with Harts consent. We're looking for one with Hart, he has agreed that we can sign a keeper to help him learn. Which is why it's not really a major thing, however the defender and striker are.

It would be great to have Villa on are team, but I'm not too bothered if we don't get him. As long as we deffinitly get a striker that we know can play in the Premier League, then I will be happy.

I would be more than please to bring Given in as he can give Hart a lot of experience and in 5-10 years time he will hopefully be in the England number 1 and a world class goalkeeper. (hopefully still playing for us. :P)

Hart is so bad,
Don't try and look for a argument because I believe most people in here have got passed that stage.

Instead of looking for fights on HxF maybe go and decide which club you wish to support for more than six weeks? :S

Here are some of the transfer stories this morning, which include news that Stewart Downing and Scott Parker are NOT for sale, West Ham United and Middlesbrough have said.
9.09 Rangers striker Kris Boyd is hoping Newcastle United target Barry Ferguson will stay at Ibrox.
8.53 Premier League target Scott Brown (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11787_4746790,00.html) wants to stay at Celtic, insisting he is enjoying playing for the SPL champions. Portsmouth have been linked with a £9million bid for the midfielder.
8.42 West Ham United have told Sky Sports News that Manchester City target Scott Parker (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11685_4746788,00.html) is not for sale. The midfielder was understood to be close to sealing a £12million move to City.
8.27 West Ham United striker Carlton Cole (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11685_4746707,00.html) is hoping team-mate Craig Bellamy stays at Upton Park. Tottenham have failed with a bid for Bellamy, while Man City are also interested in the Wales international.
8.20 Senegal forward El Hadji Diouf (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11695_4746750,00.html) is planning talks with Ricky Sbragia to discuss whether he has a future at Sunderland. He has been linked with a move to Blackburn and is eager to play regularly.
8.11 According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are close to agreeing a £15million fee with Portsmouth to re-sign Jermain Defoe, who is looking to leave Fratton Park.
7.58 Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11680_4746665,00.html) has again insisted that the club will not be selling any of their big names this month, with Stewart Downing wanted by Spurs and Gary O'Neil chased by former club Portsmouth.

Also to whoever said the Everton story, I think it's most probably true because David Moyes was at the Blackpool - Wolves game.

I heard Terry Henry coming to Southampton for 9M..

No really, I'd love for Toure in place of Richards, anyway at the mo for city, I think with SWP out we put zab right mid micah righ back and onuoha and dunne CB's instead of keeping same and put Vass straight in cos Vass if awful.

Scott Parker isn't too good but Johno too come back..

I don't think City need a new striker like Santa Cruz.

Caicedo holds up the ball very well and Robinho is great at running onto passes, perfect partnership. Santa Cruz can run onto the ball and head but not as good as Rob.

Wouldn't mind Downing on Loan as Petrov is injured.

Spurs and Portsmouth are £1.5m off in valuations of Defoe, and Stephen Appiah is training with Spurs this week, with a view of signing a permanent contract.

Arsenal's main target was Inler but now Wenger doesnt want him and according to Sky Sports, Stephan Ireland is now the main target tbh he could work well with Cesc, cesc holding back and Irleand going forward

Ireland is not leaving City. His words are "City till I die". He wishes to be a Gerrard/Scholes figure, in which he means a one man club. Arsene also said earlier this season he does not think it is right now that City have all this money that we're "ignoring" our youth system. Now he's wanting Ireland.

Ireland will never go. This is what i hope the team to be in a few years..

Hart (possibly another better exp keepz)

Richards Toure (possibly Dunne in place of one of these or Nedum) Lescott Bridge

SWP Ireland Johnson or Elano (or a better holding mid) Petrov

Robinho Caicedo (Jo is he gets better - remember hes only 21.)

Good team and I think this is what Hughes is looking for a good team that works hard.

City need to get rid of Dunne- he is a liability.

I lost count of all the red cards, penalties given away and blunders in general.
