My sixth form only requires an A* - C in English or Maths to do subjects beyond GCSE level.

Science? Don't you get the choice of Bio, Phy or Chem? :S

I personally, had the choice of Science and a subject (Like Bio, Phy, Chem or others such as Psychology, Environmental Science etc) OR Triple Science which was just the Biology, Chemistry, Physics.

I'm doing B1 C1 P1 and B2 C2 P2 on Monday, as well. 21st Century Science by OCR?

I think this is the stuff you'll need: B1 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/science/21c/genes/) C1 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/science/21c/air/) P1 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/science/21c/earth_universe/)

I think it's the right stuff - check out the Bitesize 21st Century Science pages.

I see. I think we got the chance to take all of them individually. Although some were only available as crash courses ie the whole course shoved into a year like Psychology. Eveything else was available on it's own though. For Environmental Science though we just went straight to higher so it was essentially the same end product as a crash course except obviously it was spread out over 2 years.

On the B1 part especially, there will be some opinion and ethics stuff for some easy marks, so there are some easy marks to be had anyway. Are you doing foundation or higher?

I wish you all the best of luck on the paper - I hope you get a C, if that's what you want :P! Join this (http://www.nerdspot.org) site (Jack as your referrer), and some people on there will help you, if there's anything you don't understand.

These exams are pretty easy to be honest. I am in Year 11 and therefore have completed my Year 10 science GCSE. Don't worry about it to much. I did higher and didn't find it too hard, however depends on your ability.

My teacher is never off, however copying out of books is the only thing you can do really, because there is limited amount of practicles you can do relating to the work.

I'm doing B4 C4 P4 and B5 C5 P5 in 2 weeks time woo.

Science? Don't you get the choice of Bio, Phy or Chem? :S
In this type of course you have to do 18 units (I think) which consists of 6 biology, 6 physics and 6 chemistry units.

If you go into health and social care they mainly look at chemistry and Biology.

Seriosly you need to do really well in these papers, last year I got A*'s in Biology and Chemistry and got like a G (like 5%..) in the Physics paper because I hated my teacher :)

I'm resitting Physics next week though, probably the same paper that you will be sitting

I did these in year 9 because i fast tracked in science (Did it a year early, so i can pick up extra one year subjects)

You'll need at least 50% to get a C i should assume if not a little more, but remember that the exam is merely 12% of the overall grade, i got 2 D's and an E in P1, C1 and B1, But came out with An A, and 2 B's in the end!
Dont worry too much, revise what you feel you will revise and relax :) Its just an exam!

Well, schools in Cambridge are different then.
But then Cambridge is highest educated place in the world.

Not really, 27/42 is 65%, not far off 70%, and just because schools are suituated in Cambridge shouldn't automatically give them harder grade boundries.

Maybe not but then why do the schools here only allow students who are either "Clever" or "Rich" ?

Higher Education maybe, but places such as primary and secondary schools surely wouldn't allow only clever or rich students in.

B1 B2 B3 on monday B4 B5 B6 on 21st and B7 in June.

How the **** can you learn 6 units in one whole term? :/

Unless you havent got C1 C2 C3 C4 C5 C6 C7 + P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 P6 P7 too do aswell?

I did higher tier paper B1 + B2 + B3.

I found it easy tbh, just the first 3/4 questions were hard cos i didnt revise about the human body and the cells !

Another test on P1 P2 P3 on thursday and then on monday i have C1 C2 C3

Should be easy peasy :)!

Honestly it is, it is even the same with Universitys. Be super clever or have £££ and your in.

Inseriousity.

Are you on about portugal or the UK? In the UK, there are league tables in Summer, showing the percentage pass rate of 5A*-C GCSEs (I think there are league tables for everything: KS2 SATS, KS3 SATS, A Levels etc). The higher the percentage pass, the better the school (obviously that would be the logic but not always the case). With this in mind, some schools prefer to bring in the smart kids (as these will boost up the league tables) and the rich kids (because of misconception that they must be smart if they are rich, which isn't always the case, or money can be used on boosting up the league table or both! :p). Hope that answers your question. Just a theory I learnt about in sociology but it makes sense. :)

As for Science, I did better in Year 10 than Year 11. I think it's a case of getting used to exams, which made me more prepared in Year 11. I did AQA though so may be different experience for you. Good luck :)

Cambridge itself, Oxford to. I am clever but then my family has money but I think its a pretty disgraceful thing that schools and universitys take students with £££
