Frank Lampard was sent of in the second half. Correct decision or not?

Its difficult, but I say it should have been a yellow. He got the ball, and pulled away from the challenge.
Although, in the defence of the ref, Lampard was off the floor and had his studs showing.

Difficult decision. Your views?

Why did this deserve a thread?

No he didn't, It definetly wasn't a red, barely a yellow & the referees view was obstructed so he has no say over it.

Not in my opinion. He hit the ball and then because of the speed carried on to take the leg.

The referee was right infront of Lampard when the challenge happened.

I think you'll find Chelsea are in the top four.

I haven't seen threads about red cards that all the other top four have had?

Nice to know that everyone in the world can pick up sarcasm.

Because they are unquestionable, I suppose. However, my point was that on this forum (and pretty much everywhere else), the majority only care about the top clubs.

It was a red studs showing.

Not a red, that tackle on benayoun in the last min was worse :S n chelsea got the free kick.

It wasn't even a foul from Lampard. If anything, it should have been a free-kick to Chelsea, and possibly a yellow to Alonso. Crazy decision.

P.s why didn't Gerrard MBE get sent off?

If Lampard got sent off for that
Stevie G should of got sent off for his more vicious lunge.

So not it's not correct.

No i didnt think it was a sending off. typical pathetic english referee's ruining the game. they dont ever seem to want the game to flow.

Wasn't a sending off.
Bosingwa should've been sent off for kicking Benayoun in the back though.

Why do you say that?

It wasnt a red card yellow card at the most for the lunge. But to be fair it took me a few replays later to make up my mind. thats why technology should be brought to the game. how can a ref make a decision like that in seconds? the ref obvs just saw lamps with his studs showing and thought hmm think fast... red card.
