All of your pictures are worthy of being posted on a teenagers forum, sir.

Aviation viewing park at Manchester, the airport is spotter friendly and so are the police.

Yes it is legal :)

Nothing to be scared about :S

We live about a hour from most airports (Leeds Bradford, Manchester, East Midlands) then around 3 hours to Hethrow, 4 to Gatwick.

I'd love to go out for the day and take pictures of planes with a nice camera.

No? We got like fences? :P. If Police think your causing a threat at Manchester. Then they will sort you out, but its pretty obv to tell from a terrorist and a spotter.

Yeah, Heathrow & gatwick have big 8-10ft fences, circular barbed wire on top, with a Fibreglass sheet about head height to stop any views of the runway :)

Theres also armed police a lot too :P

Also, Is plane spotting not in any way illegal? Im sure there somthin about the identification numbers and things?

mabye im just going on about complete rubbish :)

No it's not illegal, the only time it would be illegal would be if you was spotting to aid terrorism and such like.

Taking aircraft registrations is not illegal, nor does it set any alarm bells ringing.

Heathrow is totally no spotting, 5 minutes max before the police ask you to move.. Well tell you too, with the threat of arrest.

Never had any problems with the police at Manchester, only really spoke to them to say hello.

I think I know what your getting at. There were a couple of people few years ago now who got arrested in Greece for being plane spotters. They were touring air force bases? It was made into a program on ITV as well. Well, that's something different anyway but in the UK spotting isn't illegal :P

Agreed, I fly to Faro every year at easter time, have done for many years. I hate them buses you have to get on. I've never tried taking pictures but i would guess they wouldnt care, seen as you do just get off the plane and stand around on the actual airport bit for ages..

So you think all terrorism related attacks are random, not planned?

Police at Manchester Airport encourage spotters to report suspicious activity, that being a person taking various pictures of things not aircraft related etc, not just when someone has a bomb strapped to them and is walking towards the taxiway.

Adam!

I would report any suspicious activity, despite however small it seems. The police would apperciate it, even better if it turns out to be nothing.

One of the many posters on display at Manchester;

Nope they wouldn't care in the slightest, I do it all the time in Spain and stuff lol.
