Hey,

I am 16 years old and I was wondering what age you can take driving lessons in the UK at and get a Provisional Licence. People have different answers so any opinions would be greatful :)!

You can apply for your provisional license 3 months before your 17th birthday.
I know this because my license was issued in September and i was 17 in November.

However, you cannot actually have a driving lesson till you are 17. This is because you will not be covered on the driving instructors insurance on public roads.

However you can drive a car on 'private' land at any age with land owners permission.

17 untill you can drive legally on the roads. 16 under very particular circumstances. Any age to drive on private land tbh.

You can apply for your provisional license 3 months before your 16th birthday. Yet you cant take lessons until your 17.

Normally, for car drivers, the earliest date your provisional licence can become valid is your 17th birthday, however you can apply for the licence up to three months before your 17th birthday.

You can learn to drive on private land at any age, but have to be 17 to learn on the road :)

Yes but you need a provisional license to do your CBT for a moped at 16, so you can get your provisional way before...

you can apply for your provisional when you are 16. You can't drive a car until you're 17 though. (this is because you can use it to drive a moped, it is the same licence)

You can get a provisional 3 months before ur 16th then get it on your 16th, because i got one for my 16th for my moped, and driving age is 17
