Lol, Villa had a real chance of winning the cup if they played their best team and actually gave it a go.

Well done to City also :). They have a pretty good chance now too.

LOL

The teams left in are not too bad, City shouldn't be afraid there's no super-threatening teams, they could win in or atleast Q/S-Finals.

Then again it is City xD

The possibility of an exciting, fast-paced, passion-filled, all-English Villa vs Spurs Round of 16 match has turned into a rather dull sounding tie between CSKA Moscow and Shaktar Donetsk :P.

I doubt it, only game that will be on TV will be City vs Aalborg (because their the only English team left in competition) which is more than likely going to be on Five :P.

I hope city do well, if they win it this year they will sign all sorts of worldclass players and be in the champions league next year. It will be interesting.

Interesting to see them get knocked out at the first oppurtunity, yes.

I don't get it.

He played his weak side because he wanted to concentrate on getting top 5 next season to play in the UEFA Cup. Someone explain why he sacrifices the UEFA cup to play in the UEFA Cup?

He wants the Champions league but it also gives his younger players the chance of playing in bigger games. They could be needed with Villa's small squad.

what about redknapp, sacrificing UEFA to play definate UEFA. O'Neill has a chance of CL football if he focuses on the pl. but then again, he wins UEFA, hes in CL anyway. argh, I dont know.

villa had a chance of winning it this year so it begs the question; why didn't Martin O'Neill improve the squad?

football is full of questions but i guess he'll argue that not only is he saving his main players for the PL but he's investing in the future :8.
