The geordies are idiots. They're all like "Oh the only way is up now". Fools. Everyone knows he's the Geordie version of Gareth Southgate.

i think he'll keep them up, i'm not going to say he's a good manager because obviously he as no prior experience. there will be a huge lift around the place, the whole club fans, staff, players etc etc and that huge lift will keep them up although i'd love to see them go down.

Press conference is tomorrow. 2:30.

Wise is set to be leaving and Joe is going to director of football.

He's got a MASSIVE job ahead of him. I wish him luck in all expectation that he'll fail. What they need is an experienced manager.

Nah i don't think he will be although GS was a massive fail and imho shouldn't still be at boro. I think AS has more experiance in actually playing and he already is a massive part of that FC, the fans already adore him etc etc. But it won't all come to him over night ofc so people can't call for him to go after 5 mins like with most other managers these days if they dont win something in their first season

I think he'll re-inforce newcastles old tactics which won them games when shearer played for them.

this has great potential, it could either be like keegan '92(?) or messiah's great comeback not so long ago . i'm obviously hoping for the latter.

Only reason he is manager is because newcastle are in that much of a mess nobody else wanted it.
