Bought it this morning. It's a 99' Dodge RAM 2500 Cummins 24-Valve Diesel.

I think it's a nice lookin truck. Nice lift kit, pretty nice wheels and tires.

Not sure what chip it's got. It's got a programmer, as well as a 5" exhaust tip.

I'm lookin at putting stacks on it, black smoke looks better with stacks anyway:

Anyways, here it is-----

Get the same arches from the first pic and it would make it look a lot nicer :)

I do like ram's but they just don't fit in with the cars in the UK.

May I ask how much you got it for?

Awesome stuff! Lucky it's not petrol, as it would be one fuel eater. :P

It's interesting how the insides of pretty much all trucks have the same style dashboard as old 1990 cars so like an M reg Ford Fiesta. The rectangular air vents and block-dashboard style. It's strange how companies haven't modernised them, even when the "hard-working" style of a truck won't be an issue.

Anyway, it looks OK. Can't really pass judgement really, in the UK those sorts of trucks would either come as part of a kit or imported over by people who like the american style. :)

What the hell is an arch? You mean stacks? The exhaust stacks coming out of the trucks bed?

What is it's purpose?

To drive?

Yeah a lot of the cars have recently, in the 2004 generation of truck changes (which a lot of the trucks either changed in 2002, 2004, 2006, or 2008 (every 2 years).

They went from being square blocked dashboards, to rounded or flat:

Wheel arches

Tbh it needs to be lowered a bit, it's way too high.

The whole point of a lift kit, is lifting it. This is going to be an off-road truck most of the time anyway.

That's the reasoning behind the mud tires, and the lift kid.. so no.. it's not "way too high".

;5751848']Wheel arches

Ah, I like them, but they'd be quite expensive.

It looks crap though being able to see your suspension and everything.

That's the point of being able to see it, you don't have the same taste as us in America for that.

Then again, you'd have floods from that rain all year around!

In Australia showing suspension is mainly used for 'bush-bashing' four wheel drives.. ;)

I prefer the top 4WD, are you going to put your exhaust like that too?

Yeah, I live in a country town.. so we have lots of roads.. but then again we've got lots of country.

I wanted something to mix it up. It gets amazing gas mil.

$50 to fill the tank up with diesel and it got 300 miles on that one tank.

Yeah this is a 4WD too, and we call it "muddin" here :P sorta the same.

Na I probably won't put stacks on there sadly, quit expensive.

The top truck looks mad.
I live in the bush and there are heaps of them around my house! But the drivers are idiots too sometimes, like on a dirt road they go really fast (maybe 70-80km/h?) just so there is dirty everywhere and you can't see...

What was the reason you got your 'truck'? Was it for work or for fun?

Well I work in the construction industry by day, technology by night ;P So having a work truck to get me out in the boonies to a job site, that's a good thing.

Plus half the time I'm haulin materials and tools anyway.. and my truck I had really isn't too good for that.. and isn't good on the gas either, so I wanted a diesel.

Cummins whoops the **** out of Powerstroke anyday, so this was really a nice find.

But I mainly got it to drive around 90% of the time, and to go 4wheelin in, and offroadin.

It has a gooseneck ball in it, so I can haul a trailer, but that's about it.. because it's so high.

Sweet!
Well, I hope you get better mileage out of this truck then the other..

I get about 600km, so about 372 miles out of a tank of petrol in my car... :)

horrible in it's current state. no fat arches, no "stacks", gash wheels and it's probably just going to get used to drive around town and not really going to be 'off roaded'

will probably be not very good economy either,

No one here likes fat arches much, they only look good on duelies.

Stacks are expensive, and require a chip to blow some nice smoke, so there ain't no use wasting $629 on a nice set of stacks, then $700+ on a good programmer. Ain't got hte money for that yet.

I love the wheels, and were an ass load of money to buy ;)

Yes, it will be off-roaded. That is where I've been all day, it's raining here right now.

Nice truck by the way, if you can't dodge it, ram it. :P
